I have had big tire, caged big block Monte SS since 1987. I run 1981 Monte Carlo 6 cylinder coils up front with S10 2" dropped spindles. Sits perfect and has tons of stored energy at the drag strip.

My current project is a 1956 chevy sedan delivery 2 door, with a 1st gen LS 350 from a 2001 chevy fleet truck, I rebuilt it in 2002 before it was common place, I retrofitted it to a carb put on GM performance vortec heads and used a msd distributor, and bumped up both compression to 11 to 1 compression and piston size to 30 over, with a lanauti voodoo roller cam, with roller rockers an a truroller timming chain, and converted all the bolt holes to Arp standard bolts,no need for a torque to yield set up. I also converted the timming cover to an early one, but kept the lower end as a stock set up except the oil pump, in which was a miladon high volume with a early pick up tube and I kept the wind windage trays and used a forged distributor connecting shaft. Now that was fast, unfortunately it's down for a firewall and floor replacement, you got to love rust.

Is that a Pontiac ferio in the background, that would be an excellent mid engine car, with an adapter on the transmission to either an LS, or A cadilack norstar, or even a small block, I saw one that had a 350, with a supercharger, the scoop for the ram air came from removing the left heat vent on the back of the deck lid, then it was made to fit that spot and went over the roof sleek like, on the one I had I put in a 4.3L v6 and removed the driver's side vent punched out the block plate behind the side vent then added a scoop over it like a shelby rear brake vent on the 67 and 68 shelby mustang had, then used the factory Pontiac air cleaner it turned it into a ram air, I used the ferio v6 sensors and the 4 cylinder throttle body injection set up and upgraded the actual throttle body off of a c1500 big block from summit, and with a few tweaks to the computer the car hauled but. If you decide to play with it the front end will need to be weighted down as they where to light in the front, and would lose steering traction. I even made my own muffler set up. And used the factory spring set up to hold the bigger pipes in place, it looked stock on the outside, mine was fun, had to sell it as to many tickets, I'd like to see you play with that when you have the time.

Hey Josh, what if you take off the sway bar in the front? Shorten it (tig weld)and then put it on the back? On Jack black...

the OBS has more compression than extension by design. that's what you need to focus on to get this bad boy to launch hard. if the front suspension tops out too soon OL' JB is gonna spin the tires. and nobody wants that..

I know your spring change was just a quick swap, but if you swap in 1" taller lower ball joints you get a bunch of suspension geometry improvements (camber curve, etc) but also get a drop without actually changing the springs. just fyi. I did the 1"lower ball joints and 5/8"taller upper ball joints on my Monte and the handing improvement, with springs, was a shocker. oh, also partly due to your vids, I'm looking for a beater Monte to throw a rowdy 355 into (maybe BBC)

I just sold my bike and my 52 Chrysler so of course I’m doing the logical thing and shopping around for a G-body because your monte brings out my manic tendencies. Give my investment choices a rating 0-10. Lol
