‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣ THIS EPISODE ‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣‣
If we have learned anything traveling full time for 6 years, it is that no matter how many times you visit the Grand Tetons, it is still magical and breathtaking EVERY SINGLE TIME!
And - there is always something new to see and experience even when you have been to the same location multiple times. It is one
of our favorite parts of this lifestyle.
After all of the hikes and favorite boondocking spots in this area, we couldn’t believe there could actually be an experience that would top everything we have done in these beautiful mountains.
Grand Targhee Ski Resort offers boondocking at their facility for $35 a night and offers rides on the Dreamcatcher chair lift for $25/person in the summer and fall to reach the most spectacular view of the Grand Tetons we have ever seen!
The chair lift runs from 9am-5pm (10am -5pm if you are bringing a mountain bike up with you) and a one day ticket allows for 3 trips up the mountain on the lift. The ride itself was absolutely stunning and so very peaceful. But the real treat awaits you as you walk about 50 feet past the lift and summit house to see the back side of the Tetons.
One of the employees told us to keep hiking past the summit viewpoint out to Mary’s Saddle. We were so excited to see the view from the top of that ledge, but we realized 3/4 of the way into the hike that we had forgotten something very important and needed to turn back. Don’t make the same mistake we did. Always be sure you are prepared for any excursion to turn into a longer hike than anticipated and pack accordingly!
Stay tuned for next week as we see if we can grab a first come, first serve site at Craters of the Moon National Monument! Be sure to like and subscribe and click on the bell icon for notifications when we release new video!
Don’t wait to live your life, find your 🔆SOMEDAY🔆 now!

I was concerned when I saw you intended to do a longer hike. Yes, there are lots of grizzlies around Targhee. I came so close to retiring there and found an amazing and COOL log house in Tetonia with the views! It was rather remote, but high up enough to have the views.....in the end I decided it was not a good place to be a single elderly lady, but oh how I wanted to be there! Glad you enjoyed the hike.

Alta WY is where I am from. My uncle was one of the biggest influencers of building that resort. The little cemetery on the north side of the road coming down the canyon is where my grandparents, parents and uncles and aunts are buried and where we have our burial plots. The Little Rock church is where attended church when I was a child. It is truly the most beautiful place on earth. Also. Those mountains are whew Yellowstone dumps their naughty bears so you probably made the correct decision on not getting too far from “civilization” and the view from that side is by far the best view.

Your family inspired us to take our 15 year old grandson on an epic adventure to go from Coast to Coast this past summer. I had watched every video you ever produced and learned so much. Not only on how to address issues that arise while traveling with a travel trailer but, how to do it with teenagers and l am forever grateful to you for that. We made it 7 weeks of our planned 11 week vacation before our trailer was t boned in corn country Ohio and vacation was over. While the accident was so terrifying to the point that we will never tow a trailer that big again, l can’t stop watching your videos of your wonderful family out there living life. The videos bring tears to my eyes filled with joy. I love your girls, l wish only the very BEST for you all and if you ever get to southern Oregon again, l would love to be your person tour guide. Keep doing what you’re doing ❤

I know now you can fix a photo on the computer in a couple of minutes. I miss the days of 35mm film where you had to fix every thing in the dark room. Where 5 seconds in the fix could make or break a photo. If it was broke, start over. Time consuming. But, if you were right. What a feeling !!! Your composition is your key Corey. Always spot on. What needs to be in focus is. Background, in focus or not is spot on. Time laps are really cool. Aerial photos are spot on. When it comes to photography, there is nothing you do wrong.

My wife watches your channel all the time but I just saw this episode today. We lived in Idaho and spent a lot of time on that hill, winter and summer. We have a special attachment to Grand Targhee. I thought that you might like to know that the flat area you saw on the back side of Fred's Mountain is called 'Beard's Wheat Field". Apparently Mr. Beard, when he first saw it, thought it looked like a good place for a wheat field. I guess he didn't know that it is solid rock. And just up the next hill, where you decided not to go, is the site of one of the high ski cliff jumps ever done. You can look it up on KZbin.

Your videos are always so beautiful and inspiring. Right now, our family is going through a rough time as we lose my father-in-Law to lung cancer. This video gave me 22 minutes to escape. Thank you!! I don't know what was said about bats, but Bats are one of the most misunderstood animals. People imagine them to be blood-sucking, rabies-ridden, hair-tangling, night-stalking, loathsome creatures. The truth is, very few bats (less than 1 percent) carry rabies. Even fewer bats are bold enough to come near people, and most feed on pollen or insects. Bats can eat up to 1,000 mosquitos an hour.

Another video where my brain just hurts when it ends. I really don't think a full length movie would be long enough. It's almost like "I can't stare long enough" at your videos. 😅 I hate that our 'Someday' has to wait until retirement. I know it's not supposed to, but it does, then we can stare at these things for ourselves. Love you're videos.

Love your channel. I went to the Art Institute of Atlanta for photography when I was young, late 20's. While I was into my career as a union ironworker. Am 65 now. That is when I loved taking pictures, taking stills, nature, and learned to love black & white photos. Infrared was also fun but hard to get right as you want in the dark room. Point being. Saying goes, the cream rises to the top. Well my son, the way you shoot you are at the top of the cream pile. The way you shoot the landscape you are just begging us to go there. There are no words. You are the Ansel Adams of the RV channels. Thank You !!!

We were hiking in the park at the Grand Teton's last summer and at about mile 8 of a nine mile hike with two family's and 3 pre-teen kids we came around a stand of trees and were 20 feet from a grizzly sitting in a clearing Winnie the pooh style tearing a log apart eating bugs. It looked over its shoulder at as as we slowly backed our way up the trail. We did have bear spray with us but luckily it decided to get up and walk off into the woods. Looking back it was amazing, but in the moment not one of us even felt comfortable going for a phone to take a picture.

Nice hike, reminds me of the one in Vail, Co. that takes you up to Eagles Nest. I did Craters of the Moon when I did my Yellowstone trip several years ago and we camped at their campground, I was there in July so it was pretty hot on the surface(around 100F) but down inside the lava tubes you need a jacket if you plan to stay a while plus there's ice in the tighter places. Down inside some of the cinder cones is snow that will never melt as well, funny place but bring knee pads if you want to do some of the lava tube crawls because lava rock is not pleasant to crawl on without them.

I also put blocks under the feet on the low side, I've had "Over stroke Error" on sloped sites when I didn't. Also, I X-Chocked the side that was on blocks. What you did with blocking the low side definitely takes the stress off the gear on the low side.

Jess, it is not your fault that you didn't bring bear spray. There are four adults in your group. Just because you always have taken care of them doesn't mean that you always have to in the future. Let them be grown and have some adult responsibility. That includes you Cory. I love watching your videos.

In theory your argument makes sense , but since no delegation was set in place beforehand, and the fact she usually does it… Just like I’m in charge of all the camera equipment. Almost always there’s some checks and balances, but I guess everyone was just excited to get up the mountain 😃

We love the Tetons but have never done a hike there even though we had bear spray 😂. Someone had foot issues from hiking Glacier but I won’t mention her name.

What a nice place to visit. Problem is there's no campgrounds for at least 60 miles. I'm in disbelief. Thanks for sharing the sights.
