I've said it in the past and I will say it again, Mike is the kind of friend that one can count on one hand! He's a real friend who is always ready to help. If I had the pleasure of knowing Mike, I would check on him weekly only because I live in NY. If I was in his neck of the woods, we would be good friends!❤

presalting just buys you a couple hours. the salt on the ground before the snow will melt the snow before it has time to start sticking but it only works for so long, so if you don't go out a few hours after it starts snowing then the presalting was done for no reason.
@proc78675 ай бұрын
I like presalting even if it just buys you a few hours as you create that barrier between the snow and concrete that doesn’t allow as much bonding of the snow to the concrete. Lot better scrape and melting once you scrape the majority off.

salt before a snowy weather helps if it is correct, temperature in the air and ground temperature. but it also costs the customer more or takes away your bottom line if you have a fixed price, as long as your machine scrapes well during snow plowing and you possibly salt afterwards, it is not necessary

Is there a reason why people don't setup a battery tender and block heater up to always be on together. Even have a switch to disable the block heater when not needed.

man this storm was awful, we had already gotten 17-20 inchs over the past 2 weeks here in Naperville IL. which doesnt sound like a alot but it was spread out and we ended up working 90 hours a week for 2 weeks. Then this ice storm came through and kicked our ass, we salted all of our commercial accounts 4-5 times and everytime i went back to myn it looked like i had never been there with salt. Glad it was over i love snow but HATE ice

Take a multimeter and test continutuity at the plug of that block heater, should have like 20-50 ohms or somewhere around there.

Never had much luck with pre salt especially in freezing rain conditions. Seems like the ice just builds up between each piece of salt. Not much fun.

A firm believer in pretreatment helps with any amount of snow to get to blacktop faster and keep ice at bay for those wet storms with potential to freeze.

Question from someone in Texas…… what happens to all the snow when it melts? Do yall get like a melting snow flooding season? 🤣
@ryneingram91135 ай бұрын
It doesn’t tend to cause floods but does make things wet. As a rule of thumb an inch of rain is equal to a foot of snow, so when you see a lot of snow it’s not really that much when compared to rain
@nephilly875 ай бұрын
You see how you had it down to blacktop right away that’s what presalting does
