Great test & awesome dog 😂. Do you think the manual or auto transmission with manual option is better for this scenario? . I wanted my friend to buy an X5 before he bought his 740il . One thing I love about the X5 is the tail gate, makes it feel like a truck .

Petrol M54. We unfortunately didn't get diesel e53s in the states

@@gasjunkies7048 I have a 4.6is e53 here in New Zealand. I also have a 330d e46 and the diesel engines are excellent. Does the x5 feel gutless with a m54b30?

@@zerotohero7449 It doesn’t feel gutless. It feels natural. Naturally aspirated 6, sounds good, it’s super reliable, it will outlast any other engine that was for the X5. Definitely not gutless but does lack power. Still fun to drive, it’s not worth getting a 4.4i over a 3.0i in my opinion. 4.8is is another story.

@@aidenp5768 Yes m54 is a nice engine - I have many - but it wont outlast the m57, not even close. m62 has chain guide issues, and n62 has its own issues too, but m57 is the most reliable and much more powerful than the m54.

@@zerotohero7449 Oh yea In the USA we don’t get the M57. What’s the highest milage M57 you’ve heard of though? I’m curious on how long those last.
