Kujo is who Ren bought the beat from for Sick Boi. Apparently, Kujo had an uncleared sample in the beat he sold and…well- it gets hairy. Ren explains it in detail in a video from last week.

@@TheAxeification the short of it is Ren bought Unlimited rights to the Sick Boi beat, which Kujo sold on Beatstars. It turns out Kujo didn't have permission to use the choir sample. The owner of that sample has come forward to get their payment. It seems Kujo despite being contractually liable for selling a beat he didn't actually have a right to sell, having seen the success of Sick Boi has decided he's going to hardball Ren, copyright striking the song and holding it ransom unless pays more and gives up a percentage of the masters, despite him originally paying top dollar for unlimited rights. Ren tried to find amicable solutions. Even offering to make another track with Kujo with a full 50/50 split on masters. All attempts were declined so Ren, at the end of his tether, took Sick Boi down himself. More than any other song, Sick Boi is Ren's story. It tells of his medical struggles and his battles in the industry. His UK number one album was titled Sick Boi, his merch sells on the Sick Boi identity, Sick Boi is a personification of Ren and Kujo has almost brought the whole house down just for greed. Luckily, Ren is redoing Sick Boi as a version 2.

Kujo proceeded to refuse to pay the royalties to the Bulgarian choir that originally created the sample. Then, just to add to the drama, Kujo’s girlfriend came at Ren as well

After really looking into things, it's not even the choir themselves who own rights to the sample, but some 3rd party producer or label type entity, so Ren isn't even sure if any of the publishing will go to the performers. His thoughts are to try to reach out to the choir and cut out the middle men for the remake of Sick Boi, but that may have to involve a trip to Bulgaria unless they can set something up remotely, so he's not sure whether or not there will be time. He's wanting to release it on October 13, which is the 1 year anniversary of the Sick Boi album release. On the one hand, it sucks that it's not as easy as just trying to clear the sample for the new version, but I love that Ren, once again, is trying to stand on principle and make sure that whatever deal he makes will benefit the singers, not some 3rd party who has rights to their work.

The craziest part of the story is that Ren offered a 50/50 deal that would settle the problem AND propel Kujos's career, but didn't because Kujo was greedy. He really messed up what could've been a great opportunity.

The double tap to the back of the head at the end always gets me. 😂 The full explainer vid(if ppl have not yet, check it out) does the real damage to Kujo, this video is just therapy for Ren getting it out and having fun at the same time. Very simply put, it started with Kujo selling a beat with a stolen sample and the owners going “oi that’s ours, so give us 50% of the publishing!”. Then somehow it escalated to Kujo and his attorney using a small unintentional mistake made by others, not Ren himself, to demand money from Ren as if he was the thief. It’s like there’s a huge gap and I suspect it’s between Kujo’s ears 👀 But at least we got this righteous rage! Ren showed us exactly what happens when you push the nicest guy in the industry too far… he needed to let the anger out somehow and boy did he do just that 🔥 Ren just made history and we all went crazy! Our sick boi was wronged and the hype to see him release his anger was insane. Pretty sure that was like twice the amount of people in chat for the premiere than we’ve seen before and so many reactors heard his call for support. It’s interesting that the community is so passionate because of how genuinely nice Ren is, yet we all LOVE seeing this side of him 😂 But as much as we love it and would love a part 2, for Ren’s sake I hope this is the end of it. He’s been through enough over this and just wants to move on ❤

So basicly there was a sample in the beat that ren bought from kujo that was from a Bulgarian choir, and afterwards, there came lawers and everything, kujo demanding it think 50% from everything from sickboy (the song), however ren didnt want to do that, so he than proposed to make a song together and split it all, wich was a perfect deal, but kujo didnt want to do anything, so ren decided to just take sickboy down, wich sucks tbh because he is talking about mental health and his illness and stuff So yeah hope that helpes!

Rather than good and bad side of ren, I’d describe them as 2 different styles of righteousness. ‘Good’ is the one seeking the higher path. The one who represents creating a better world for humanity. Whereas the ‘bad’ is embodying righteous anger. The specific kind that gets tapped into when the oppressor is too gaslighty to be responsive to the higher path and will not cease their torture. Kujo didn’t clear a sample on the beat he sold to Ren. When the owner of the sample came to (rightfully) get their share of the publishing, kujo refused to cover it and decided it was somehow rens problem. Kujo copyright strikes the song on KZbin to hold it hostage and force ren to give him a retroactive 15% of the master plus a 3,000 pound deposit up front. Ren being a patient Angel offers to split publishing despite not owing him shit. Kujo said no. Ren has a spark of inspiration And offers to collaborate with Kujo in a new song and split the whole master 50/50. Kujo still said no. Now his lawyers say accept the retroactive 15% or were coming for 100% of all of it. Ren finally gets mad, and takes the song off of all platforms because fuck you. And he lets the beast out of the cage to massacre kujo and his GF (who was spouting off on Reddit and making up fake contract details).

You should watch the vid he posted about the whole thing with sick boi being taken down, will bring you alot more perspective on this, the choir for example is who Kujo stole the beat from that ren bought in good faith from him, then kujo tried to pin it on ren, got a copyright strike on his channel from Kujo when he in private messages said "he had nothing to do with it" and kujos girlfriend posting fake contracts, trying to flirt with him in DM's and such, in which she inevitably threatened to fly over to london and break his kneecaps. ren even offered him 50% of the deal AND make a new song with him, Kujo turned it down. the man is done with.

Kujo is mad because there was a hold up on his rightful publishing cut being paid to him. BUT, the reason it was delayed was because Kujo himself sold a beat to Ren that contained and unlicensed sample. Kujo had no rights to that sample. The sample owner then later came after Rens team for their piece of the pie. Rens team went back to Kujo and said you are responsible for this(based on the beat stars contract) and should absorb this % out of your %. Kujo and his team said NO. Ren tried multiple ways to reach a compromise even though he did NOT need to do anything further. Kujo and his team dug their heels in further and so Diss Theater was born.

If you get a chance watch the video REN decided to put out in answer the truth about the incident in regards to the lies Kujo and his Trollop are spewing. REN went fine here is proof of this , receipts for that, and just dumps the truth of everything that was done by Kujo.
