People went to church, and Christmas is important, in the life of the church. There were Nativity plays each Christmas Eve, before the midnight Mass, or service. There was a blessing of the animals, when children brought their pets to be blessed. Church, to me as a child, was the most important part of Christmas. My father got a job, that took us out of the country, so we had no church, or even our own place to live, so I acted out the Nativity with my dolls.

Is it just me, or does some of this sound like it would make a good backdrop for a “Christmas Carol”-type story, similar to “Scrooged”? There could be a Cratchit-like family living in a Hooverville, based in Central Park OR the large park of a fictional East Coast city based on New York. The family patriarch (or matriarch) could be the secretary for a Scrooge-type banker (who could also basically be Henry Potter from “It’s A Wonderful Life”) while trying to raise money for medicine for their Tiny Tim-type child. The Scrooge-type banker could have a similar transformation overnight on Christmas Eve, deciding to help the people of “Hooverville” however he can while he still can. What do you think? 🎄

The video would have been more enjoyable had you used vintage photographs instead of modern ones.
