This week on grown men play with wood. Love is in the air, Frank has a secret girlfriend (you don't know her, she goes to a different school) and everybody fantasizes about their fantasy valentine. From big huggable Hodor to the king of smashing zero. And then the gang shows us some up and coming add-ons for the new kickstarter. Also the editing is so worth it, keep it up man we love yah

Also as far as fav show-fav valentine question goes, its so hard. Game of Thrones- Tyrion. So misunderstood, super smart, and a secret heart of gold. The only one you know wont fuck you over. In Parks n Recs I also go Andy Dwyer. As for my fav show. Gonna go Critical Role and Jester. Shes so sweet and fun! Everyones a little in love with the blueberry!

Hey, we don't get many views on our videos either. I feel you.
@nuttm3gg5 жыл бұрын
Woodcraft I hope you actually see this, You guys need people with more personalities, also the nature of your content doesn't appeal to the masses. I am 22 years old just to put that out there for reference. I have watched WoodSmith's TV shows, Rough Cut with Tommy Mack, American Woodshop, New Yankee Workshop and a bunch of others. There are things I like and don't like about every woodworking show I've seen but the biggest thing that kept me coming back to Rough Cut (my favorite of all of them) is Tommy Mack, looking at your page it's apparent the videos with Jory Brigham brings in the most views. Why is this, it's because he's a face and a personality, reviews are great and they are always important, but how often are people looking for an oddly specific router jig or a sawhorse? The answer is not that often. If you guys are serious about what to do to increase your views, you need a face for your company at least in the media sense. A really good example of a company doing this is Bon Appetit, the cooking magazine with a substantial youtube presence. There is a myriad of different style of videos with about 5 or 6 stong and entertaining personalities for each type of video on their channel. Also in a lot of traditional tv shows that found great success, there is a face as well Norm Able is the face of New Yankee Workshop, Scott Phillips is the face of American Woodshop and so on and so forth. A lot of people my age watch youtube for the personalities of the people who upload videos sometimes without regard for what they are actually doing a perfect example is unboxing videos, they still confound me but people watch someone open an item and enjoy it because the person has a personality they enjoy. Lastly, I know it's hard to just change everything about the way you're doing business, I would recommend doing a weekly show with whoever your personality is going to be (younger the better but it doesn't have to be). As someone who is fairly knowledgeable in cabinet making and carpentry, for my age, I enjoy seeing things I already know delivered in an entertaining manner more than a cut and dry super informative this is how you do it presentation. Also, 90% of carpentry is gaining experience so for me personally missing a few fine details isn't a big deal because some things you can't teach. My final point will be this, overall younger generations are less and less interested in doing woodworking, you're fighting demographic issues on all fronts and need to appeal to generally the largest audience possible without compromising what you do already. This isn't to say it's impossible, but I think the start is to get a young guy who is interested in woodworking and knows enough about youtube to be dangerous and he should make youtube decisions from there.

@@nuttm3gg Thank you for the feedback. The comment was mostly meant in good fun. We don't get many views, we know that, and we know why. We aren't trying to compete with any of those old woodworking shows. First and foremost we are a retail store, our primary goal with videos is informing people about product so that they can make a purchasing decision. We really aren't (or perhaps weren't) concerned with views and "entertainment value" of our videos. I love Bon Appetit videos, they are great. They also have a crew of people filming and editing. Typically for our newer videos I'm the one in front of the camera, behind the camera, and editing. All that being said, we are hoping to do more entertaining/better content in the future and have some big plans this year. I will save your comment and look at it occasionally to remind myself what I want to do here. Thank you.

I work at least 8 hours a day. I come home and watch some youtube for fun. Although I am really into tischlern (woodworking) - it is still WORK. So explain to me, why I should watch a channel, that shows me people working, after I just saw 8 hours of hundreds of people working. Convince me and I subscribe.

If your other social media is expanding but not KZbin you should really advertise the KZbin more on the other platforms. I'd also recommend making the ads you have on this channel into KZbin channel advertisements. With how the current KZbin landscape is, this niche-in-a-niche channel isn't going to be promoted to anyone, which is why you're not having much growth. Hell, I only even found this channel because of your Facebook page and actively searching out more content
