Scott, man, I have to say this was amazing. When I was little I got to ride in the boat with The General as they pulled him out and into the stadium for the Redman championship in Tampa many years ago and I will never forget it. This was the best thing I've seen you do yet. That meant the world to that kid and he will forever cherish that short trip out with you. This is why Scott Martin is my favorite angler. Most people as famous as him would maybe just give the kid a high five and an autograph but Scott goes above and beyond for his fans. Spent the whole day with people he barely knew and just took em fishing on his professional fishing boat. What a class act. This was probably my fav video of them all. So happy for that kid you can't fake that reaction when he caught that 5 lber. So much genuine joy with his role model.

I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and talking with Scott’s dad Roland Martin several times when I was a young boy. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Scott is a very selfless person and it shows in this video. You can tell this wasn’t staged at all. Landon’s father made sure that he let Scott know just how much he cared about Scott. That was pure gold man. That kid got yo go out on his heroes boat, vith his dad and his hero. He got to experience grabbing big bass and halling them on board for his hero and his dad. The next thing you know, dam that kid caught one himself which was by far his PB and he did it with his bass fishing guru and his dad. WOW WOW WOW!!! The reaction by this kid was real and dope man. This is amazing. Brings back a lot of memories for me. I was fortunate enough to get your dads autograph on one of his white double blade spinner baits, which he gave me at my 1st tournament on Rice Lake Ontario. It would have been 1986. Unfortunately it was also my last tournament, as my father passed the following January. But pros like him, yourself, and the Izumi brothers, made a young kid like me smile. After the final weigh in of day 2, Wayne took me for a ride on their Ranger boat, an amazing experience to be sure. Thanks for showing pros like you are still out there. Side note, we finished 34th out of 125, so not bad for a father son duo..
