Uncle Jesse - aka John Stamos was an "honorary Beach Boy" when I saw them perform with him in concert in the early 90's. He wasn't there for the classic 60's songs but they brought him out to play drums on this song and as I recall he stayed for others and did an amazing drum solo. And I want whatever evil magic keeps him, Tom Cruise and Elizabeth Shue from aging!!

When "Kokomo" reached #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1988 for 1 week, it set the record for the longest span between a band's last two #1s (1966's "Good Vibrations & 1988's "Kokomo"). They invited John Stamos to be an honorary member of "The Beach Boys" which is why the Beach Boys made an appearance on "Full House." Brian Wilson (ironically had no involvement with this song) is the father of Carnie & Wendy Wilson (two members of the group "Wilson Phillips" - the third member, Chynna Phillips, is the daughter of John & Michelle Phillips - of "The Mamas & The Paps")

You are right, and if you realize something , both songs are related to the beach in different Eras that define beach customs. "Good Vibrations" with the surf lifestyle in California in the 60s and "Kokomo" with the Caribbean lifestyle with luxurious Resorts and palm trees in the 80s.This band lives up to its name:The Beach Boys.

There is a Kokomo, IN but sadly there’s no real island destination called Kokomo. And I’ve never seen Cocktail, but I still keep this song on my playlists. Very big hit in the '80s. This and Wipeout(fat boys) help them to hit on the charts for the '80s. Fun fact it was the Beach boys that actually started the acid Rock or hippie Rock in the sixties. They and the Beatles were so much influenced and rivals against each other they started taking it up a notch. And rock was never the same... Out with the teenie bop Rock, in with the deep meaning classics.. so influence that a lot of the blues artists became rockers. Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin.. etc.... And yes uncle Jess was a beach boy drummer for the '80s. Lol

Everyone wanted to go to Kokomo! My parents loved this later Beach Boys hit, I loved John Stamos being in this music video! For another fun Beach Boys song: “Fun, Fun, Fun”.

Beachboys are my favorite Ever!! Beach grandpas, now. The Beatles got some of their ideas from the Beachboys. The 2 band were good friends. Yes, John Stamos played the drums, for a while after Dennis died(the middle brother). Baby brother Carl, sang lead on most of these songs. He had the voice of an angel. Brian Wilson was the genius of geniuses!

John Stamos (Uncle Jessie) started his acting career in 1982 on the soap opera General Hospital, and in 1985 he started touring with The Beach Boys and continued to do so into the early '90s. He's performed on and off with them since them, the latest time being at a benefit concert just three months ago. He's obviously a man of many talents.

The Beach Boys are my favorite band I have seen them like 10 times for the 80’s into the 2000’s. I was a the first concert that John join them there was a writers strike going on in Hollywood so he came to play. New Jersey at the Garden in 87. I had a to do a double take because I couldn’t believe my eyes.

Yea, John Stamos plays with The Beach Boys. Stamos has occasionally performed in concert with The Beach Boys, dating back to 1985, typically playing drums and various other percussion instruments. In 1988, he appeared in their video for "Kokomo", in which he played both the conga drums and the steel drums. In 1990, he played drums for them on the title track of the comedy Problem Child and also appeared in the song's music video. In 1992, he sang lead vocals on a new version of "Forever" for their album Summer in Paradise. The song was originally written and sung by Beach Boy Dennis Wilson and released in 1970. The song was also featured twice on Full House. The first was a recording sung at his character's wedding, while the second was a recording sung for his character's twin sons. The 1992 music video, titled "Forever by Jesse and the Rippers," featured Stamos predominantly. However, three of The Beach Boys members are briefly shown singing harmonies with Stamos: Carl Wilson, Bruce Johnston, and Mike Love.

Loved your reaction to my all time favourite Beach Boys song! My next Beach Boys suggestion would be "Wouldn't It Be Nice". The song will forever remind me of the show "The Wonder Years" (it featured in an episode). Speaking of, I believe you have already reacted to Joe Cocker's cover of "With A Little Help From My Friends", which ended up being the theme song for the show.
