the monacacy produces some giant smallies up in walkersville md.. the biggest bass i ever heard ever being caught was on a white chatterbait behind a boulder on a sun morning and the weight which is really nuts was 8 lb 3 oz..fish like that i imagine are prob never caught but 1 time or zero times.

Frank after assuming that giant bass can go in super shallow water to hunt and watchin ndyak vids on you tube a kayak fisherman on youtube i now know that its true after watchin him cast into grassy pockets where the water looks 4 inches or less and nailing monstet size smallies its just mind boggling that bass can be so sneaky and amazing at killing prey

befire zman and nikko existed i used the zoom little critter craw in the river with a 2/0 vmc hook and a 1/16 oz bullet weight with some big catches also my local lake with largies. prob 15 ,20 yrs ago and they still make em.

nice fish what rod do you use? i use a sm pflueger. i use allstar from mid 90s us made and a us made kisler helium lta 66 spinning rod.i buy used stuff if possible.the lta rod was almost 300bucks with the daiwa reel it was 350. i never use my best stuff on the river as i dropped my rod once and was unable to recover it.
