Hell yeah! These guys are legends. The vocalist/bassist is ICS Vortex, who was also in Dimmu Borgir for a long time. I think you would love his other band, Arcturus, which also has Hellhammer, the drummer for Mayhem. Check out the song Moonshine Delerium

8:54 is Lars Nedland. He plays keys and is also clean vocals. Guy doesn’t get enough credit because everyone automatically associates ICS Vortex with Borknagar vocals. They are both 2 of the most powerful vocalists in modern metal.

I've been listening to Borknagar for almost 2 decades and this is one of their best songs, imo. I love them!

Borknagar's last album "True North" was great from track 1-9. "Winter Thrice" I would suggest, by them, off of that album. It features multiple vocals that will blow you away. Great entry point!

He did Winter Thrice already. For me, Winter Thrice is the perfect album. Best record of all time, regardless of genre.

Went hiking in sweden for two weeks this summer with three friends. Borknagar is their favorite band and they waited until the trip to listen to "fall". I never heard of them before in my life but was immediately hooked the first time i listened to it. no evening Went by where we didn't listen to the entire album.

When you said “I wish the lyrics were up” I was watching your expressions thinking “I hope he’s seeing the lyrics”, because the lyrics are a masterpiece alone. You captured the spirit of the lyrics by telling us we’re not alone. Borknagar has had amazing vocal chops in their band since day one. Btw, these days there are two vocalists in the band, and I could hear both in this song. Simen Hestnæs (bass, clean vocals and harsh vocals) and Lars Are Nedland (keys and clean vocals). They are both brilliant. If you are getting a feel for the progressive side of Norwegian Black Metal you have a ton of stuff to choose from man! I back the comments saying that anything from the relatively new Boorknagar album True North is worth checking out. Great album all the way through. Another Norwegian band from the same scene that have had a similar trajectory and is playing progressive Black Metal to this day is Enslaved. Context: Enslaved released a split EP with Emperor already in 93, the primary song-writer in Enslaved actually played in Borknagar in 97, these days he has a band with Einar Selvik from Wardruna, and Enslaved has toured with Opeth on several occassions. Anyway, Enslaved are _amazing_. Songs I would recommend as an introduction are Sequence, Sacred Horse or the title track from their latest album Heimdal.

I couldn't get into the song at first, and I misheard a lyric so hard, I just had to laugh and couldn't take this seriously at all (It says: I fix my gaze, and I heard something with "spaghetti"... omg).... So I stopped, and came back later, to really appreciate the song, and I did. Great composition, great atmosphere. Not the biggest fan of the vocals, but great music overall...
