They've come long way since they first sang this on The Sing-Off ten years ago. The vocals are very similar to how they sing it on their live shows. Great reaction.

When Home Free was on the Sing Off, the judges wanted them to change up songs so when they did Ring of Fire they put a calypso beat into it. Tim went really low and it was a hit. Then they did it with Avi Kaplan (10 years ago). They were currently doing a new Sing Off album where they redid each Sing Off song and so they did this. Yes, Chance is new as of 2016 and did Avi’s part. Adam’s hair was long and he grows it long every once and a while and cuts it and donates it to kids with cancer. It’s short now. Austin has left the group as of a month ago. He’s newly married and wants to stay home and start a family. HF already has a replacement Bastien.

Easy to forget Adam Chance was the bass singer in his previous group, Street Corner Symphony, and can always carry the bass line when Tim's singing lead. He's been singing that part live for many years in their concerts, so it's great to have an official version. Also, notice the videographer's name - Jimmy Bates? One of the members of FifGen, that we were talking about making the Daft Punk Medley video for Pentatonix - he's been one of the leading video makers for KZbin acapella for a long time.

This song has always been a fan favorite. What a great remake of "Ring Of Fire". It was first done on the "Sing Off" in 2013 & then later with Avi Kaplan. The visuals reminds me of "Fishin' In The Dark"/"Boondocks" (you may want to check that one out). Chance is a nice addition to this version. Of course love Tim's lows & Adam's awesome vocal percussion. I think he sounds even better this time.

Quite a different version of Ring Of Fire than the original video. I like it Home Free’s version are them redoing their older songs under their label because when they did older songs they were with Sony Austin Brown has left the group and Adam Bastien has taken his place. Bastien used to sub for one of the tenors when Home Free first started and also was a member of Chris Rupp's group 7th Ave Bastien did his first concert with Home Free at the Country Rumble Fest in Lima,Ohio June 21 and The Grand Ol Opry June 22 and he did amazing. They now have 3 Adam’s in the group. They filmed a video in Nashville with Bastien now we wait for it to be released. Home Free released a welcome/ introduction video called Adam Bastien’s First Weekend. Home Free recently released 3 videos that are the last ones that have Austin in them 1-Your Man 2-Champagne Taste ( Original song) 3- Crazy Life ( original song )

When they performed this on the Sing Off I knew they would win the show. A judge on the show said they needed to make the song either touching or fun. They did both. I love this version with Chance in it. Thanks for the Home Free reactions.

I wonder if the same person was involved in the video for this and for Fishin' in the Dark/Boondocks and whether that person is a fan of '60s James Bond movies because I see visual references to them in both. Especially Adam pointing while in the target in the Boondocks one. That is straight out of the intro for one of the Bond movies.

I doubt Chance was worried about meeting Avi's lows, it was an opportunity for HF to reinforce the fact that Chance is a valid bass, not 'just' a baritone. "Home Free's version" is the label on each of the cuts on the Crazy(er) Life album - their remakes of their first album which was done under contract to Sony - they are independent now and can do things how they want to. Some of the cuts are nearly indistinguishable from the originals, others are quite different.

I guess this would be "ring of fire" part 3 by home free. Part 1: performance on sing off. Part 2: features Avi. Part 3: instead of Avi we'll have Chance in it. With a new version of the video.

Love this remake. Those red lights make them all look so sweetly demonic. And you missed Tim's little smirk at the end. The "Home Free version" signifies that this is a remake under their own label - ala Taylor Swift.

Good reaction, first time they did this was live on the Sing Off in 2013 it was so good live they won the song off that year, after the ring of fire performance they never looked back. Everyone knew they had it won and it was only the 3rd performance. Hope you check out there sing off live performances there so good even back then.
