Your next trip should be to San Diego. I liked that slings little jump. They can leap pretty far, and they do it very different to jumping spiders. But very cute from those arboreal slings.

I think besides the spores in the air to transfer the mold I think because you mix the substrate with real dirt (hope it’s not just from outside but that could be the reason) I know if you were to use a pure coco fiber substrate from a sealed bag for the housing until you get rid of the mold that would help and hopefully it doesn’t affect the tarantulas at all and make them sick.

Water dish, how good building material. My B. albopilosum used already 2 dish as building material :) Maybe you should wash hides or use new hides, because spores can be transfered to new enclosure and continues problem. Can be hard to get rid of it, spores everywhere and they transfer easily, even on T's feets, belly or so. Good job othervise, keep up good job :)

to remove the hair i would try a vaccum cleaner, i used that when my backwindow exploded in my truck, i was covered in tiny shard. it removed every last bit (i don't know about their hair, i don't even like spider lol)

Because of you I'm interested in perhaps having tarantulas, I've never had a fear of spiders but I've never thought about having them as pets (loosely used therm 'pets' lol). However, I have to convince my husband to be okay with it since he does have a huge fear of spiders.

As an Australian, I'm pretty well stuck with only Old World spiders. My first and currently only sling is a Selenotypus champagne robustus. Teeny Tiny little thing at this stage with very little apatite and incredibly timid. Very rarely see the little one since they've made a big deep burrow into the depths of the substrate. Luckily i don't mind waiting till it's ready to make an appearance. all I ask is I see some sign of life at least once a week, and so far that wish has been granted.
