I knew her voice and face were familiar! Anna is so f-ing talented, and the song is a beauty to appreciate. I truly enjoyed it to the end and I'm gonna listen to more of their art.

"Gara Amun Ian A Friar" That is what she is singing. When Anna was writing the song she had a melody but no lyrics, so she made up some words that sounded like celtic to her as a placeholder. She never came to find something better, so instead of replacing these meaningless words, she gave them meaning. It is meant to be "Let us dance around the fire" in her own made up language. As of the background of the song, Cellar Darling explains like this: Inspiration came from two sources: the dancing plague of 1518, which is a fascinating story in itself, and an engagement with our contemporary world: doesn't it sometimes feel like we're in the process of dancing ourselves to death? As this song came out during the worst period of the Covid pandemic, I think it was heavily inspired by the situation and how the world handled it. I personally think the video is a much deeper allegory than it appears at first sight. It's no coincidence they throw the big C right there in the beginning. Anyways, thank you for you reaction! I'm glad you liked it. This song is to this date their most ambitious work and is a bit of a departure from their former sound, as it is musically definitely inspired by old school prog rock, and less metal. I'm very curious about their next releases. I've heard one unreleased song fom their upcoming album, an it is again totally different. And that is how this band interprets progressive music: for them it means not to have to stick to expectations, genres or commercial opportunities, but to be free to do whatever they want whenever they want. New album next year, probably. I can't wait. Short EDIT: I forgot to mention the most epic hurdy-gurdy solo of all time at the end, lol. It's fascinating to me how she can make this instrument scream like a heavy distorted guitar. I don't know anyone else who does that, and if there is I'd love to listen.

What a video! Not to discount Merlin or Ivo, because they are super talented in their own right, but Anna is just friggin' awesome! Free from Eluveitie , the three have been able to carve out their own unique brand of music. Great reaction! 🤘🤘

Um.....ok Total Banger!! The music itself was really good. Her voice is just lovely. Loved the guitar in this. The music reminded me of the Foo Fighters, obviously with a much different vocalist. Great talent here. 16k subs brother! We are climbing high my friend.

Yeah this was a trip indeed. It went in all sorts of directions but somehow everything fit so well together. And her voice is really enchanting.

HolyWTF?@@ lol beginning of the video, pocked up the letter C then placed it next to the TV right beside the letter E. Um, those are my initials. 😅😅😅 coincidence? Perhaps, but daaaaaummm., then I am commenting before you again Tommy. Love the music A+++ but the video? Is there a letter higher than A+++?! Lol wow, just WOW, talk about super duper in depth?! Yup they nailed it. I can't say what I want to say, yet again, as a breakdown and what I saw, because it will get deleted by you know who, but thank you yet again. Love it. Speaks volumes. ❤❤

The C is beside the E because of the word Dance. But it is certainly not a coincidence that they throw the C in there at the beginning. I'm not so sure I got your comment right, but IMO the song and the video is a metaphore or allegory about the big C pandemic effect on mass psychology and how the way it has been handled (either way) will deeply resonate with us for a long time. But everybody is free to their own interpretations of course.

Man I’m always amazed when I hear them. This isn’t what I expected them to be after leaving Eluveitie. But I like it.

I don't dislike Cellar Darling (Insomnia is a very good song), but I find their style way too similar to many other prog bands. I loved Anna Murphy in Eluvetie (as both backing and lead vocals) and I can't help but thinking she doesn't shine as much in her new band. If you're not familiar with her previous performances, you may wanna hear Omnos, Rose for Epona, Slania's Song or, my favourite, Dessumiis Luge.

I loved the melody and certainly the inclusion of the hurdy gurdy, but unfortunately I couldn't watch the video. It took me apart.

Loved her voice and the music, except that it went on just a bit too long. Couldn't stand the video and ended up just listening and not watching.

I somewhat agree the song could have been a bit shorter, that was also what I felt first time hearing it. But I guess they wanted to tell a musical story and needed time and space. The video is very metaphorical, but of course creepy and disturbing in parts. Maybe also a bit distracting as first listen...
