We just recently visited Gulf Shores and loved every minute of it. Visited the Beach Bum Outdoor store, which by the way was epic! We nailed some pompano, thanks to the bummy rigs along side of bearded Brad rigs! Awesome video bro! Hoping to catch you all in store sometime!

I've fished the Gulf beach waters for years. I've managed a few flounder in the surf but nothing like this hotspot! They were definitely piled up in that hole!! You made me start to think about the differences between the Southern and Gulf flounder by pointing out their markings. Now I have to question whether or not I've actually caught a Gulf flounder. I'm CERTAIN that I've caught many of the Southern species but not the Gulf flounder. On a different note. I love how some call a beach "private". Homes and private property that abut a beach, I understand. But the beach? The funny thing is that those that build their "private" homes right on the beach and want the beaches privatized, suddenly want EVERYONE in the property insurance pool to assist in funding their losses in the aftermath of a hurricane! Suddenly, it's NOT a private beach! Anyway, thanks to Bama Beach Bum for sharing another awesome fishing trip!!

Another exciting video. Years ago on Pensacola Beach i found a similar hole full of pompano caught 20 in 3 1/2 hours released all but 2 over 18 inches. Thanks for saving advertising for "Catching Not Fishing" podcast. Please . I come here every morning for my daily dose of fishing. My feel good medicine. The gulf coast KZbin fisherman are a great bunch of guys working and helping each other. Matt stay bummy and stay fishing. God bless.

Hi Matt I am so happy no one in NC can own the beach and there are public access points everywhere I do get dirty looks from people because I am fishing behind there homes but they can't stop me or anyone else from doing so. I make sure I don't fish close to swimmers I would not want to hook someone on accident that would be bad. I have caught 1 gulf flounder here in NC a long time ago did not know the difference back then have not seen one sense maybe he was lost. My largest flounder weighed right at 10lbs back in the early 1990's on a finger mullet in Bogue sound now we can only keep them during the month of October loved this video brought back good memories.

Tide lines change. There is a mean property line, and it is usually 15' from high tide line. That is why the property owners normally have to get permision to build a pier.

Hey guys, I've been lurking for a while. Like most, I'm retired looking for something to do. Anyway, I thought you guys might have an interest in adding a new product to your new store. It's a highly portable and light shade option. It's also super easy to move with you down the beach. I won't put in a link as no one trust a links. Just search Shibumi canopy's. I think the Surf fishing community would LOVE this! 10'x15' area of shade that is only 4lbs, compact, and is SUPER easy & quick to set up and move. FYI, love your videos along with great educational value. Have also watched a lot PB videos as well. Thank you for the content you share.

I’ve had a doormat on and right up to the dock and got cut off by the biggest flounder I’ve ever seen!!! I was sooooooo sad!! I had no idea what I had on until he was right beside the dock, the back water in Sneads Ferry NC is dark!! They have massive head shakes and he cut me like a dang blue fish!! I don’t give them as much time anymore, I might miss a few but no gut hookups and less likely to have the fluorocarbon rubbing against those teeth!!!
