Michael Bay, the director of films such as Bad boys, Transformers, Pearl harbor and most recently Ambulance directed three music videos for Meatloaf of which this was the first. You really should check up Objects in the Rear View Mirror May Appear Closer Than They Are, not only is Meatloaf a singer, he is also an actor maybe most notably in Fight club even though he has made lots of movies and that video is maybe his best performance ever.

"what is he?!" yeah. exactly....WHAT is he.....i've been asking myself that since i first watched the video. at first i thought he was some sort of vampire due to the long nails and magical powers(he moves the chair through magic). but he has a reflection in the mirror. and also there's a part where it seems like he has maggots on the side of his head, so most likely not a vampire....maybe some sort of lich? or a special kind of self-aware zombie? i've been looking around(not very intensely) but i havent found the answer. if you do please post it here so i can finally know WHAT he is....

almost all of Steinmans material is based around a vampire theme, so in the songwriters frame of mind this is sort of a vampire idea, with that in mind the "lesbian" scene might be that they were about to turn the woman into a vampire too BUT MeatLoaf doesn't want her that way - then he smashes the mirrors because he thinks he is not handsome enough to get the girl but he wants real love so he won't have her as another vampire - in the end she saves him after he convices her he is for real and won't screw it up, and they ride into the sunset a happy ending - and her lifting the dress looks like BAT wings bringing everything back full circle and acknowledging the original Bat out of hell Album
