Two Ellis Valentine missiles in the same ending montage, fantastic!

I was 7 years old and used to watch this religiously. As soon as the closing theme was done, I’d run out and play baseball immediately, humming the theme the entire time. Miss those carefree days so much!

Most entertaining half hour of TV back in the day.Now the MLB channel shows the weeks best bat flips.

That music alone @ the end jacked me up to go out and play ball... I was 14 years old then-it gave me goosebumps to hear that theme again....

Thank You so much. This was my favorite show when I was a little Oriole. Long before we got cable TWIB was the only way to see teams weekky. Besides Monday Night Baseball and NBC Game of the Week and your local station that only carried about 70 total games, TWIB really helped and was well put together. Mel Allen was perfect in his narration. The Orioles wasn't on early in the season, they were usually just warming up for the stretch drive in August and September. When it went off the air for good a few years ago, another piece of my childhood went with it, but thanks to some true baseball fans, I can enjoy them like I was 10 years old again, with the box scores and daily stats from the local paper not far away. Those were the days! I miss them...boy do I miss them.

I was going to leave a comment about watching this show every Saturday during baseball season when I was 10 through 13 but you pretty much encapsulated most of my thoughts and sentiments. I am and was a CWS fan. You guys were great in those days my Sox couldn’t hang with you guys at home or away. Wow! I just looked it up your ‘79 season opening homestand was against my CWS.🤣 4/6/79-4/8/79 You guys took the first 2 games We took the last then booked it back home to play that relatively new Canadian team.😁 God I miss those days too😥

For me as a kid coming from Chicago, I watched the Sox, the Cubs, NBC game of the week, stats from newspapers, baseball cards and TWIB. That’s how got my baseball education.

TWIB was a big part of my youth and was the lead to NBC Game of the Week in the '70s and '80s.

That music was great. I'm a musician now - and realize I was interested in the music than the baseball itself. But baseball did allow me to bond with my brothers back then.

Gotta admit. Those 1979 uniforms do look pretty cool. But they looked even better in 1980!

Why won't MLB do another video/DVD on demand of these TWIB seasons? 1978-1986????

Remember that season well. Was in h.s. Why? Because perhaps the greatest single game played took place in 1978: Game 163 between the Red Sox & Yankees. Yeah. Thought the Angels were gonna go all the way w/free agents. Ryan. Carew. Baylor. Was a Giants fan. Had a love/hate thing w/Candlestick.

A lot of the stadiums back then were dumps and were played on bad surfaces. Woof.
