Love those silver numerals on the Raiders' uniforms. Tomorrow is the last time they will ever represent Oakland, California. Sad to see the end of an era.

mhbass yeah the music enhanced the highlights perfectly. And of course the NFL was SO much better back then. I miss the grass fields, dirt, mud, not so flashy uniforms, and the way defensively you could clobber the opponent

9:50 11:13 Carroll Dale is the most under-valued member of the Lombardi era Packers. Not saying he belongs in the HoF but he was the big play weapon for them and he hardly ever gets a mention.

Looked like Buffalo's defense hit hard in that game against the Rams. This was the year the Dolphins moved up as a major contender, and the Oilers faded. I like Houston's metallic helmets.

Bears playing the Eagles in Evanston. The NFL wanted the Bears out of Wrigley Field, and they tried out Dyche Stadium for this one game before eventually moving to Soldier Field in 1971. The residents in Evanston didn't exactly welcome them with open arms.

the days when the show was about the football games and not about the announcers. I can't stand watching the NFL shows today, they all drama queens and talk too much.

Otis Taylor (WR Kansas City) wrote a book entitled "The Need to Win". In it he stated of all the NFL stadiums he ever played in the one he hated most was Buffalo's War Memorial Stadium (23:38)-he said at the end of a game you had to run as fast as you could to the dressing room or else all the hot water would run out. The stadium was in a very rough area of Buffalo and the opposing team's bus would often be pelted with rocks and eggs

At 21:38 there is an example of the Vikings employing a 3 man line on defense. Historically this didn't seem to work out very well for them, though in this case, Kilmer through a pick.

Actually the Lions had one of the better teams just the Vikings with a record of 12 and to the 49ers record of 11 and 3 had better records Dallas and Detroit both finish 10 and 4 Detroit had to travel to Dallas and they lost the lowest scoring playoff game in history 5 to nothing Bill Munson and Greg Landry were quarterbacks on that team and they were both above-average you also had Mel Farr and altie Taylor at running back you had Hall of Fame tight end Charlie Sanders on defense you had Hall of Famers Alex Karras Dick LeBeau and Lem Barney in the secondary you also had great linebackers and Paul new moth Mike Lucci and Wayne Walker the 1970 Detroit Lions team was their best team

Man those Oakland Raiders White Uniforms with Silver #'s are bad to the bone , 1970 was the ONLY year they ever wore them... why ?
@bobscott24295 жыл бұрын
The Raiders wore the whites with silver numbers also in 1963 and '64, and later for special occasions (1994 and 2009, to commemorate the AFL's 25th and 50th "seasons," and, in 2016 and '17, Thursday Night Football "Color Rush" games vs. Kansas City). (Source: The Gridiron Uniform Database)

The reason given was that the silver numbers with the thin black outline were hard to pick up for TV viewers. What is strange is that when they wore the silver numbers in the mid 60’s, they had a thick black outline.

as the raiders abandon their loyal fans in Oakland for a second time, it's so refreshing to see the socialized Green Bay Packers, holders of more NFL championships in the century of the NFL than any team, still playing in the same stadium as 50 years ago (and longer). so nice to see a team not hold it's city or state for black mail. taxpayers do not owe private sports teams (or any business) a building to have their private business done. so the most successful championship team, the Packers continue in their old stadium, while the raiders, possessors of 1 winning season in the last 17 (maybe 2) cry about needing a new stadium to be successful. no, you need good football people running the franchise, stability, a good coaching staff and good players. the stadium has nothing to do with the raiders sucking.
