1. All Black game at Eden Park 2. France game in Paris 3. Ireland game in Dublin in that order

Hi Peter - excellent show thanks My call is that with all the teams so strong now, the days of teams going 17 or 18 unbeaten tests in a row are gone. We must win trophies - the Rugby Championship I am calling one test win in NZ and one against the Argies, putting us on four wins out of six but the AB's can also get four but they have the Argies away so will drop one there - both teams come out on four wins - so it will come down to basis points and we must play for bonus points in every test - that is what will win it. (The Rugby Championship) We have not beaten Ireland away for ten years but have a very good record against France away - we have only lost one there in ten years I think we will keep our winning streak of 85% from 2024 but go down in three - AB's away, Ireland and the Argies - but we will be no one ranked test nation again for the entire year in the rugby rankings - We should now go as the team to keep the number one ranking record for the longest time - I dont know what that is, does anyabody know?

Thank you so much for the kind words, Francois! I agree that it is very difficult, if not impossible to win 17 or 18 in a row. Especially for us having to play so many difficult games away from home each year. I also think this year's Rugby Championship will be a close affair and could very well end up with two teams winning four and losing two. Let's see what happens! Just on the number one ranking, I think we are a very long way off that. I'd have to get the exact numbers but the All Blacks have dominated that. Possibly from 2010 to 2016 they were number one more than 90% of the time.

Excellent content, boetie. Good thoughts and preview of the year. I expect we will have a solid year, hopefully winning a similar number of matches as this year. If we lose one against NZ and win all others that would be huge.

Morning Peter...2025 going to be huge..like you say..1 out 2 in NZ will be great but this team can make history and do a 2-0 win..maybe this year we will see these Boks in 4th and 5th gear....I'm already stressing about it.. Hope you enjoyed the silly season..
@frontrowrugby2 күн бұрын
Morning Sakabula! Yes, a massive year coming up. 1 out of 2 would be great but for sure, history is ours for the taking! 2-0? Why not? September can't come soon enough. It's too long to stress!

Johan in 1995 the Boks went unbeaten as well in a calendar year I 1998 we were close under Nick but lost the last test to England to break our unbeaten run of 17 tests under Mallet, otherwise with the warmup games in 1999 we won four so that's a pity because if it was not for that loss against England we would have the world record of 22 tests in a row which would have been unbeatable
@frontrowrugbyКүн бұрын
I think where Johan was going was exclusively in the professional era. In 1995 the World Cup and the Western Samoa Test before the tournament would have been amateur matches.

Keeping the British and Irish lions out like the Boks have done is a mark of greatness,to be the 1st to win 4 wcups is a sign of greatness. Dr Rassie himself is the greatest innovator in world rugby and thats why the current Bok squad,in my view are the greatest team internationally.

I agree Peter- if the Boks leave NZ 1-1 that will be a great result.However if the win 2-0 it will show SA's dominance over NZ in the last couple of years! Boks have a golden opportunity to win at Eden Park & the ABs are long overdue for a loss on their fortress!
@frontrowrugby2 күн бұрын
Thanks Sean. Yes, I think 1-1 might be the likeliest outcome but history is ours for the taking this year. How brilliant would 2-0 be? Especially a win at Eden Park!
@seanpinkey87982 күн бұрын
@frontrowrugby just slightly off the topic- I have a question for you: who do you think will win the series between the Wallabies v B&I Lions? I have a feeling the Lions will win 2-1 but it could also go the Wallabies way! Please give me your thoughts
@frontrowrugby2 күн бұрын
Hi Sean. I must say before the November Tests I thought the Lions were guaranteed to win 3-0 but right now I'm thinking 2-1. The Wallabies were an improved sided in November but have they improved enough to be able to beat the Lions? That will be the big question.

I think it would be beautiful if we can win all of our games this year, that is something that we've never achieved before in the professional era and only 2 international teams have achieved it post 1996: the all blacks in 2013 and England in 2016. With us (the springboks) being one of the greatest rugby teams of all-time, it feels only right that it's about time for us to get this achievement (the 100% winning-record for an entire calendar year), under our belt.
@frontrowrugby2 күн бұрын
That would be outstanding! It won't be easy but it would be incredible. I love your thinking, Johann!

What about an overdue win in Dublin!!!!!
@frontrowrugbyКүн бұрын
Yes, we want that too! But we did win there as recently as 2010 if memory serves. Eden Park is 1937. Let's tackle these things one at a time.

I have often asked myself why we don't do that. Exactly. We need to acclimatise! People underestimate that greatly. Naas Botha and Gerbrand Grobler (RIP) travelled to Newlands days before the 1989 Currie Cup final to practice their kicks, mastering the air pressure difference between Gauteng and the Western Cape. Naas' pinpoint accurate "up and unders" led Northern Transvaal to victory, beating Western Province 16-9.

It will be a very good move by Rassie if we did that. Let's see what happens. This is a golden opportunity for us.
@FrancoisVenter-x7cКүн бұрын
Just for the record our most test won against the AB's in row is six (two in 1937 and four in 1949 when we won at home in that whitewash) so if this team does pull it off we are sitting on greatness???!! - It will be six in a row - imagine that !!
