before poles came out, we used to waggler fish on Canals, and it became a sort of finesse to be able to land ur bait as close to the blackberry bushes on the far side without making a disturbance as the bream and decent roach were just under the bushes. so this is bringing back loads of memories but beefed up for carp. Love it. :-)

I’ve had a season pellet waggler fishing the will Raison way … 8lb main line … I also use 4ft of 7lb flourocarbon to a 14 QM1 … rarely miss a bite and almost never loose them on the way in unless they are foul hooked 👍

Hope to try the method tomorrow at Float Fish Farm but with the 10-20 mph wind there will only be about 5 pegs with wind behind you , all in the draw !!! Thanks as always for you expert help !!

I also agree you’ve got to be bang on with your casting and you know when you’ve hit the dinner table to get that bite.

Great video. Would Jamie consider using a short, 1m or so, length of heavier line for the section that the float sits on? It’s something I’m considering trying. Thanks guys. 👍🐳👏

@@WinningWays Robustness of the rig. As you guys point out in the video. The section of line around the float takes some hammer.
@Royboy50 Жыл бұрын
That’s what I do Chris 4ft of fairly stiff mono +30 cm hook length,I have these ready rigged on spools just attach via loop to loop swivel and stops already rigged to go just put whatever hook you require
@mannnick19653 ай бұрын
the point of lighter hook length vs main line is for the health of the fish... if yu snap off they arent dragging end tackle around and potentially killing the fish.... otherwise we'd all be putting hooks on our ain line. or have i misunderstood you?
@ChrisJackson-tv2rj3 ай бұрын
@@mannnick1965 The idea is to still fish a lighter hooklength. But the float sits on a heavier section of line which is more robust against continual casting. This in turn is connected to your main line.

Thats great Jamie, but can you explain how you actually find the botton and know how long a hook length to use?? Thanks Jamie will def watch it

Did a video years ago on plumbing up on a waggler - probably easier to clip on a loaded waggler to check the depth to keep disturbance down. kzbin.info/www/bejne/j3e3apifqZt7qas

You wanna do a video on how to unclip in case you get a big fish on. Great videos always get something from them.
@WinningWays Жыл бұрын
Only clip up when fishing to a feature so they kite rather than run away from you. Clipping up in open water isn’t a good idea 👍🏻

I have a question about clipping up. What happens if you hook a large fish and it screams off? I’m always worried that when the line spool is pulled and reaches the point where the line is clipped, the line will snap. I’d love your opinion on this.
@WinningWays Жыл бұрын
Just be prepared to unclip if it happens. But generally when you’re fishing against the island they can’t run away from you so you can get the upper hand.
@markosborne8784 Жыл бұрын
@@WinningWays Cheers. I’ll give it a go.

Use an elastic band one about 6mm wide the fish will pull line from under it ,then you need to reset it back ,mark it with either marker pen or a little sliding float stop knot that sits under the band this aids your casting
