I worked as an IT back in the Windows 98 days. Hard drives were a lot smaller then and a woman in the office needed more space. So she deleted every file that wasn't a .doc file. She had a bad habit of shutting down the computer by pushing the power button on the power strip too. She performed her delete party at the end of the day on Friday, so first thing Monday morning she was calling me because her computer wouldn't boot up. I had to remove her hard drive and copy the files to another system to save them then completely rebuild her system. This time, I gave her child level access to the system so all she even saw was her files and nothing else. If you don't know what you're doing with a computer, ask. Most people that do know are happy to help, provided you listen and learn. But TikTok is NOT the place to look for help. I’ve heard that you can increase your cars performance and lower its emissions by removing just 2 or 3 pistons and replacing the dirty gas station fuel with a cleaner fuel which also has higher octane . Aviation fuel. Just need to fine tune the air to fuel ratio and tweak the timing and increase the spark. If done correctly the emissions will drop drastically. If done incorrectly there’s a good chance of explosion, fire and even some metal shrapnel resulting in a more interesting performance for the neighborhood. The most difficult part to this is correctly doing it. I’ll say it’s impossible. But your mileage may vary. 😮

Even those with a base understanding of computers will always do quite a bit of research first. Example: It is better not to install updates that are not necessary. Sometimes those new updates cause problems and you're not always able to go back to a restore point either if it's a specific type of update. It is better to wait. I know even now there is an update that error codes for Windows 10 users. The resolve offered involves messing with your harddrive partitions. It is better to wait for Microsoft to fix their goofup and simply let it continue to error code until there is a fix for it. The solution given in different forums does not guarantee a fix. The only true fix is Microsoft fixing it with a proper update. You really don't want to mess with things like partitions and the like unless you're sure of what you're doing.

@happycows8 ай бұрын
😂❤👍 It depends. That is a last resort. Even so, a pc cannot be fixed in all cases by just reinstalling Windows 11 or even formatting your harddrive. It depends on the situation. Some computers cannot even be upgraded to Windows 11 due to the motherboard having no TPM chip. Although if your motherboard has a slot for a TPM then it could be installed and then Windows 11 installed after the fact.
@GregNickoloff8 ай бұрын
@@happycows Say what?
@happycows8 ай бұрын
The TPM is a security chip. Unfortunately if a motherboard doesn't have that chip it will not let you update to Windows 11. It has something to do with the security required for Windows 11. Basically, after support stops for windows 10 people will have a nice typewriter to use offline. I think support ends around 2026, but don't quote me on it. I say this because in regards to security Microsoft doesn't give the security updates after a certain point which makes a system more vulnerable to security threats. This is one thing I despise about Microsoft. It might be worth looking at installing a different operating system like Linux at that point. I can't justify spending money on anything if I can still make use of something, even if it ends up being a glorified typewriter.

I am not a computer expert, but even I know never to mess with system files. That is like someone who is not a mechanic saying, "Hey, I am going to take this one part out of my car's engine because I heard it will help make my car go faster and save fuel mileage." If you don't know what you're doing don't do it simply put. You're better off taking your PC as well as your car to a professional who is proven. I have some horror stories about some of these trusted car mechanics. I had to take my car to the dealership after I had brakes replaced somewhere else. Folks, do yourself a favor and stick with your car dealership. That money you save somewhere else is going to cost you in the long run. The dealership fixed the other mechanic's work. Guess what the mechanic from the other place didn't do. He didn't install the brake pads properly. They are supposed to connect into the clips on the rotors for my specific car. If your brakes are wearing down within 2 to 3 months it is potentially possible that your mechanic didn't know how to do his job or possibly had too much to drink the previous night. Take your vehicle to the dealership. Have the mechanic show you so you can learn. If you ask nicely most will walk you out to the floor to show you the problem. That job was supposedly done by someone who worked for the company for at least two years. I won't say the name; however, if you live in the United States you have heard the company's name many times. Again, saving a few bucks isn't worth it if your or others' safety could be on the line. If a mechanic does that type of work why are they still working at that company? I already filed a national complaint for safety violations against their company. This was a second incident in less than a six month time frame. I realize this is a video about computers, but I'm giving you this example for a reason. Even if you take your PC to a technician you pay you better vett that technician. The KZbin creator here is someone I would trust after seeing his video. This advice goes for your entire life to include doctors, maintenance men, or anyone who does any type of work for you. Don't believe everything you see and hear because it could cost you even your health. It is like how many do not know that fungal eye medication (Netamycin) is used in ALL shredded cheese as a preservative. You can only get that eye medication via prescription. Do yourself a favor and buy block cheese, shred it and freeze it. I just learned that one too. It's like how I just learned Rooibos tea could be a death sentence for you potentially, but don't believe me. Research it for yourself. The key takeaway is to not simply believe anything. Do your own diligent research and make your own informed decisions in life based on all you have found. Don't simply go off of positive reviews either or supposed expert advice. Get input from several experts, especially involving things like your health. Can you tell how many times I have been burned yet? I'm telling you what I know based on over 52 years of encounters. Vett everyone and if you don't know what you're doing don't act like you do for your own sake and everyone else's sake too, especially when it involves things like road safety. You will regret it greatly down the pike.

This blows my mind that someone would think nuking OS elements is a good idea. Windows is not Unix/linux where replacing modules and even getting rid of some is OK but not in Windows. W64 still uses some 32 bit modules so why anyone would think doing this is OK tells me they don't know what they're talking about. The only type of person I'd take advise from on this topic would be a MS employed engineer who has a SPECIFIC goal in mind, albeit extremely obscure. Throughout the entire lifecycle of the Windows OS over the last, what, 30 ish years, was never designed so end users could dissect it.

Don't be so alarmist. This won't destroy your computer. It will just break Windows. Your computer can easily be made to work again by installing a proper operating system or even by reinstalling Windows.

I'm only 17 seconds into this video, and I was about to fall out of my chair laughing. I remember back in the 2000s, there was a rage about how a system file had, for some strange reason, the icon of a teddy bear or some such. It was claimed to be a virus, and needed to be deleted. None the less, if deleted, it would eventually be needed, and then you were screwed in all matters of ways.

Thank you Liron. Another great advice. Only God know how much ppl has given me there pc's to fix after they have done the very thing you explaining about. But you do got to know some knowledge of what files you can and cannot delete. Like certain shared files, and certain Dll files. I think some ppl need to know what is safe to delete. And explanation about deleting to recycle bin and deleting files from explorer. As we know it dont actually deletes from recycle bin. But this vid will help many ppl. However, can you explain briefly about doing these tasks if ppl has different version of OP. Ppl still use older ops. But great vid 👍

Maybe people who delete the system32 folder because someone told the to shouldn't have a computer? Basic computing: If you don't know what it does, leave it alone. Rule 2: Back everything important to you up (these days it's not all that costly to do so).

People are still doing this? Wow. The only time I've ever done it myself was on a virtual machine, just for the sake of satisfying my own morbid curiosity.

You can delete most tmp or temp files (be careful doing this), but I would never delete any system files no matter who says too.
