today is all about the Click Between Frames mod in geometry dash which allows players to... well click between the frames while playing, meaning top extreme demons are more feasible to beat due to increased accuracy. however not everyone has geode, and this mod gives such a big advantage when playing extreme demons, demonlist levels and upcoming top 1s that some people dont consider it to be a legit way of playing the game. today we discuss whether the mod is legit! thank you all so much for watching, see you guys at 30k!

No bc you have to look big picture. A 360hz monitor will still make you better at the game bc you are receiving more updated frames on the screen thus reducing input latency. This mod has zero effect on your game’s fps. This just changes how the game handles your inputs/calculates them (physics).

The frames per second/ticks per second impact the physics. The monitor's refresh rate has 0 impact on that and only tells you how often the image you see updates. Think of it this way - you're watching a fast moving ball through a 60 fps camera, you see its position update 60 times per second, but that doesn't mean the ball's real position updates at 60hz

In my opinion this is an awesome feature that should be broadly accepted or even officially implemented by RobTop. Comparing something achieved with this mod to something done without it is obviously not a fair apples to apples comparison and the transition to this being the norm will cause some issues, but in the long run having a much more accurate input and physics system is well worth it, especially as the precision in top level play only increases in the coming years.

pretty much every other game in existence has solved this issue. how you practice doesn't matter, but completions (speedruns, hard challenges) requires unmodded play. mods/plugins for optimization are additionally often allowed, completely separate from the games usual mod loader. it's weird for gd to allow mods in the first place.

@@rwic that is my point, that most games require a vanilla copy for integrity, even if it changes nothing by itself. hollow knight (obviously the main game i play) has a mod loader which downloads an api to make mods work. the api itself does not do anything else. you are not allowed to submit speedruns where you only have the api installed. celeste mod loader on its own makes no changes that will impact a speedrun unless you cheat (so the exact same inputs performed will be no different from in a verifiable run) but its not allowed to submit speedruns with it. this is how most games work.

on the point about mobile not getting access to it, if it is pointercrate that allows it, they aren't really effected at all by that since mobile players (let alone ios players) haven't ever really been related with pointercrate at all. mobile achievments are still just as impressive and the mobile list is entirley unaffected. I think the only negative you could mention is "it's not vanilla so it should be banned" and, considering all the benefits, is really silly to say lol

in my opinion, it should be added in the main game unless robtop says otherwise. you will know in minecraft crystal pvp, there is a mod that lets you place end crystals faster, and the reason the mod is allowed is because it shows your actual skill in the field

One problem I see with this mod is the fact that different devices have different polling rates, example a usual keyboard having 1000 and a razer keyboard having 8000. This problem is a similar problem to "If u have the money for a high hz monitor, you have a advantage" in 2.1. However, unlike the monitor hz problem, which can be bypassed with tps bypass, the difference between polling rates cannot be bypassed as a device's input/s cannot really be changed. A way to fix this would be cap to inputs/s at 1000, but that would just nerf players who have 8k polling keyboards. But who am I to say stuff, with my easy demon hardest?

I hate this mod for an entirely different reason. RobTop has stated that he will never add any mods into the game. This means anytime someone creates a mod for something it will never happen. This mod should have been a native feature, however now that it’s a mod, it will NEVER be added to the game. This issue is by far the #1 reason why I think it should be banned as if it’s banned and nobody uses it then maybe just maybe RobTop will consider it fair game again to add into the main game.

Idk, achievements won't feel the same. I genuinely can't see an Unknown completion with and without the mod as the same thing. And if it does get added, there should at least be an option to enable it and not be hard encoded into the game. This mod completely destroys the integrity of low refresh rate achivements. Already 2.2 makes physics run at 240, and now if you get rid of the delay as well, there is almost no difference in beating a level on 60 and 360. I get that this gives people with low end devices access to playing hard levels, but there is a whole mobile and LRR community built on the the very achievement of beating levels with the handicaps.

For fairity issues Im not sure if I would consider this mod legal or not (manu ppl cant use geode for numerous reasons) but I definitely think it should be added to the main game as there is no real downsides to not doing it

I think that if it helps top players, it means that they are being limited by the game itself, not by themselves. So, the mod is not cheating becasue it still requires precision from players.

As a mod I consider it illegitimate, but if it gets added to the main game then I’m all for it, I’ve played around with it and the difference is pretty big but until it’s in the main game I won’t be using it

Im not the best gd player my biggest achievement probably when I got 63% on Trotil back in 2.1 but I started using this mod and I started practicing Slh for no reason and I literally beat river in 1 hour, like wtf this mod is insane

I think if this is added to the main game, it would require Extreme demons to be drastically more difficult then they are now.

I used click frames, and I love it. The main changes are wave and ship, which feel much more responsive and consistent. I dont see how its this much of an issue

You just said it yourself. It makes the game easier and gives an advantage over anyone who doesn’t use it. downloading a mod should not be required in order to compete with other players.

@@turzilla FPS bypass was so people didn’t have to spend hundreds of dollars on a monitor just to be able to compete. 360 FPS was in the main game it was just pretty much inaccessible to most people. None of the other ones impact the gameplay in any way
