I love memorising tracks. I love the Nordschleife, I love Pikes Peak, I love the Isle of Man TT (Ride on the Edge 3 is AWESOME) - I play Dirt Rally 2.0 with no HUD and no co-pilot, with H-Pattern. Yeah, you do have to memorise every corner of every track in the game. It didn't make me better at ACC though. Sim circuit racing was so boring and restrictive to me after playing the aforementioned. Just round and round and round... What did help was Forza Motorsport, and playing it long enough to win public races and to get reasonably good at it. It's so disgustingly vague and woolly and understeery, when I went back to ACC it was like the sun had come out. I could feel EVERYTHING. I could feel the kerbs, the tyres, the weight shift, it was a revelation. Somehow I had feeling in ACC which I'd never really noticed before, because it was so extraordinarily absent in Forza. I didn't know what I had until it was gone.

We call this technique -skating . Racing when everything is perfect good grip, correct line perfect braking point, sure that’s not hard but you have to be fast ina race when I won’t be on the perfect line or have the Percy brake point so you have to know how to be fast even in those situations and that involves “skating” sometimes.
@Bratmouse18 ай бұрын
I raced in real life for 32 years and never heard that saying before.
@AmericanSimracing8 ай бұрын
i doubt anyone out of my team calls it that but when you have to fight at the end of a race with worn tires and its gonna be slidy... you better know how to skate @@Bratmouse1

We call this experience :) It always make you better to vary your driving when coming back to your prefered serie. Real drivers do this to nowaday. Go drive proto, go drive wrc, go drive old car, go drive open wheeler... And most of all, have fun doing it !

I would very much agree. I experienced this with Dirt Rally 2.0. When rallying for a few weeks, and then getting back to ACC, my driving was noticably better. Still not very good with any of them though.. I haven't played ACC since WRC came out, so we will see if I have leveled a bit again.

I'll admit WRC made me better at drifting in ACC! Before, I couldn't detect any kind of slip angle in ACC. But now I'm starting to experience it. (or maybe I'm fantasizing that I'm experiencing slip angle?) I've also been experimenting with the 0 TC meta. So far, I'm 2 seconds slower than 1 TC. lol

There is some truth in this as I noticed I picket up on car behavior, movement, bumps a bit quicker, responded earlier (on time) to car slides and a small increase in some overall alertness when racing ACC. I have only been doing my bi-weekly ACC league and all my other time went into WRC ever since it was released. The driving in WRC is so good with decent FFB settings!

While i agree to a certain extent, let me put some more ideas too you, you feel more confident on acc after playung WRC because you were already confident on ACC so when you come from a game your not, it just makes you feel more confident but really, your just more confident than you were on WRC, you feel faster you feel better at the game, yes thats because your not as good on the other game so its heightens thr sense of been good on a game your already confident on, this happened to me with f1 and acc, i went from f1 started playing acc went back to f1 and i felt absolutely insane, so i thought acc is helping me on f1 so much i must keep doing this, then came the stage where i actually got worse on both because i had this obsession that playing one game would make me better at another, so although your not entirely wrong, your not entirely right either, but great video non the less
@Bratmouse19 ай бұрын
Thanks lol! In the end doesn’t matter to me all that I know is that my lap times dropped in ACC on 5 different tracks. So for me it worked. IRL when I was racing different classes and driving different cars in a short period of time all taught me something that helped me with the other cars.
@wngnpom9 ай бұрын
Just joined your WRC Clubs. Struggling with the tyre wear. The time between service areas makes it very hard to get consistent times. Are you going to change that for future championships? A service every 3 races then single service for the final race, why bother at that point haha
@Bratmouse19 ай бұрын
Awesome! I did set it up to have more services but the game was very buggy when I did it and it screwed everything up. If you watched my stream of yesterday you’ll notice I ran out of brakes lmao. Every 3 stages is ideal. In the end everyone had the same conditions lol.
