Wow, I tuned in to my KZbin subscriptions and see that you were traveling all around where I live. 😀 I have extensive knowledge of iron ore furnaces and the New River Trail.. I really enjoy researching local history

That large Rock Crusher there, was not part of the iron ore mines. It was actually part of the carbide plant, about half a mile from that parking lot the carbide company had a large qaurry where they used to mine Limestone to make carbide out of. The trail goes right by it

You guys remind me so much of my kids Mother and Myself..when we were you guys age we had a boy and a girl also but it was just the opposite, our son is older than his sister…I would love to be your age again..lol
