I work at the plant that builds these, and i build the acle sub assemblies. As far as the running gear and axles go, they are hand built and definitely built to take punishment.

is the machine pre-wired in the doors and front for a sound system? can the 12v system keep up w/add lighting? what issues have you seen/heard of with this or the 850?? Thanks

@@meseahunt as far as reliability they are rock solid. The R-Max and wolverine are built to be very robust and can take a lot more punishment than what most people will ever put them through. Wolverine is more for utility and R-Max for fun. As far as the electrical stuff, I honestly don't know but you can option them with radios

Purchased a '23 x4 850 xt-r in August. Awesome machine to ride with friends occasionally.. Traded our atv as pushing 70 yo it was no fun to ride anymore. Happy Trails to all

Good for you man!! I’m 50 and just got the x2 1000 XTR for same reason, dirt bike rider and atv rider however sick of injuries… I love this machine so far. Everyone says entry level. I don’t want a can am maverick r or a a turbo. You can only go so fast in the woods with one of these lol.

9Well done Kase. Rare do I get too interested in a side by side (mainly do to price) but this thing is pretty tempting.(albeit one cannot see it lol) Price out of the equation, as you say, it has more than just a race style vibe. Has some utility that makes it more appealing. The seats look reasonable. I like it better than the Mule for a cozy but not claustrophobic feel. The GC and suspension I would imagine makes this a more compliant ride than the mule. I could see me running around in 1 of these. Multi terrain friendly, vs the boxy low profile tire running 4 seater things that look like tourist movers. This has some appeal.

Less and less areas to ride even when living in rural areas. Sold mine for that reason.

I really don’t see why they have to jack up the price $5000 just to get the 1000 engine. Commander same thing. 5 years ago you could get the Wolverine for $15 000. Now $20 000. $25 000 for 1000. I think if the Canadian economy continues the way I think it will they will be coming down in price…or going out of business.

I don't understand the role of this machine. I have a '20 x2 xtr and the 850 has plenty of get up and go. Its fuel efficient and has plenty of tow capacity. The 850 will easily outrun what the suspension can do. Stepping up to the 1000 doesn't make sense unless you get the better suspension of the RMax. Seems like its just there for someone chasing numbers but doesn't have the money to step up to a Rmax.

@@daroldcriswell2842 According to the dirttrax review the suspension is not the same as the RMAX. ZF shocks vs fox and other things turned more to the X2 platform. However, it does sound like its a step above the original 850 setup. Would be interesting if those parts can carry over to the x2 850.

150 miles from home with a dead battery and at minimum 200 extra lbs over a gas powered model isn’t something most people would enjoy.
