As many have noted, the suspension travel numbers in the video are wrong (thanks Yamaha Canada!). I've reached out to let them know that the specs are wrong on their website. Yamaha US has the right specs. The full ride review is coming soon, and we'll put all that travel to the test. Stay tuned!

I have an X2 1000 X-TR and I have just over 1500 miles on it. I have taken it trail riding and use it around home, and I gotta say it is an awesome machine! I dont regret anything about it. The power and suspension has met/exceeded my expectations. My hats off to Yamaha for this one!!

Great video except as others have said that you have the suspension numbers wrong. The front suspension travel is 13.3" and the rear is 15.5". I own a x2 1000 xt-r and love it.

I bought one a couple of months ago and have put 600 trail kms on it. I just came back from VMUTS and had no problems whatsoever on any trail there. Lots of fun and a solid machine. But you definately want the D- mode switch. It's only $100 plug and play. What a difference it makes! Looking forward to your next video of it on the trails. Thanks for posting!

I bought a XT-R a few months ago as my first side by side. I absolutely love it. It’s fun and useful while not being too big or expensive. Comes in very handy for managing our 45 acres and plenty fun when me and my buddies go riding. Pretty quick and comfortable. I got mine on sale for about $17k USD before taxes and fees. This is always what I wanted. A powerful engine in a smaller package. I have tight trails around me but like to get on it in straight always.

This is one of the best decisions Yamaha has made to build this machine ! I had a 2022 Yamaha Rmax for 2 years and absolutely loved it ! But this year I purchased the new 2024 YXZ and I'm really impressed with it so far aswell. My brother actually just purchased one of these X2 1000's though and I recently did a ride review video on it actually and it definitely impressed me ! For the price of it you can't go wrong ! Now Yamaha should build a X4 1000 and that would be another top seller I'm sure !

I had a 2018viking ranch edition, but now own the exact same x2 1000 you are reviewing / same color too - i LOVE the ride and power of the X2 1000

Just bought one of these in the USA and so far, I love it. Great review! I will say that it is loud, even at cruise speeds, but I attribute some of that to having the CVT and clutch weights/spring settings. Anyway, very happy with the power that’s packed in a small UTV.

I just bought mine. 173 miles in two days! Wider fender flares would be nice. Other than that the mode switch should be stock makes the SXS awesome!

You have the suspension travel wrong. For some reason Yamaha lists it incorrectly on their Canadian site. For the correct specs check the R-Spec numbers.

I dont comment often. Now that said ,I own a 850 XTR and love it. An. 1000 XTR is a very smart move for Yamaha. I brought the 850 xtr in 2020 so The RMAX was not out. It hurt my feeling for a while because I felt that i could have waited for the RMAX. But now i am happy i did not get the Rmax. I will be upgrading to the 1000 X2 X-tr this year.

Great video, I'm thinking of up grading to 30x10x14 tires, do u know if they will work up front without any modification's. im worried they might rub

they will work fine, i just put the sedona trail saw 30x10x14 with sedona beadlocks on mine and no issues. I wouldn't go bigger or I'll run into axle issues, etc. 30s are fine.

I think they realized some trails are restricted to 64” max. Width and some are weight restricted to under 1800lbs is the reason this machine exists. I probably would have bought this model if it was out when i bought my Rmax. Same great engine & driveline.

For me this is the ideal machine. Shorter, narrower and lighter than an RMAX 2 but the same power. Our trails are narrow and rocky. I contacted Yamaha Canada a year ago because they were showing the 850 specs for the X2 1000. They fixed the specs for the R-SPEC but didn't for the SE. I had specifically mentioned the R+-SPEC so it's my fault, I guess... 😁

This should be a great machine. I am wondering how the noise is compared to a Polaris 900.

Is it quieter than the 850? Is this engine more or less reliable?
@MrOri
@MrOri 6 ай бұрын
Oh no it's not. Has the rmax engine which is one of the loudest sxs😂
@MassiveOverkill
@MassiveOverkill 6 ай бұрын
Slightly quieter than the RMAX due to the clutch weights but not near as quiet as the 850. Ignore @MrOri. It's on par with most of the other liter SxS but can be made quieter with heavier clutch weights. Just as reliable as the 850 but I dare so more-so.
@MrOri
@MrOri 6 ай бұрын
@@MassiveOverkill so the rmax is as loud as your yxz then? I said one of the loudest not the loudest. And not everyone is a mechanic to change the weights🤪
@MassiveOverkill
@MassiveOverkill 6 ай бұрын
@@MrOri no the YXZ is quieter. It's not anywhere close to being as loud as a Teryx or 1st gen Commander and it's quieter than the KRX. That's why there are mechanics, so you don't have to do it yourself if you don't have the capability, but we have videos showing how to service it yourself, which many were able to do after following, plus every SxS owner should learn how to work on their own machines.

This makes me wonder why they won't throw the 1000 into a Viking 6 seater. The 700 is just a dog.

@MassiveOverkill isn't the wolverine using the same old architecture?
@MassiveOverkill
@MassiveOverkill 6 ай бұрын
@@cvalle3443 The Wolverine 2 seater SxS based on the 708cc motor was completely revamped in 2019 (4 seater X4 actually came first in 2018) and were known as the X2/X4 and got the 847 cc engine and brand new chassis/suspension and shares little if nothing with the 1st gen (as it's commonly referred to now). 2021 brought the RMAX2/4 1000 cc engines.

For the peasants in a Build Back Better economy! The X2 1000 has 13.3/15.5" front/rear wheel travel. Canadian website is wrong.
@BobM-eo5ez
@BobM-eo5ez 6 ай бұрын
Yes you are correct. The Canadian website has many errors. I pointed this out to them and my dealer but they don't seem to want to correct it. There have been errors in the Canadian website for years. For accurate specs I use the U.S. website. Yamaha Canada it's time to update your website. You're missing a tremendous marketing opportunity. It doesn't reflect well when there are specs that aren't accurate. The specs are wrong on several models. When you compare the Rmax models for example it shows 29" tires on the SE model when they're actually 30". It has been like this since the fall of 2020 when the Rmax was first introduced.

Please sort out the rear diff. Yes its a deal breaker. It wears tyres out, digs ruts in the drive way, tears up the turff, reduces turning radius, and puts unesessary load on the drive train. And quiten the engine down please. Everyone else can di the unlockable diff, why cant you?

This entire review is useless. I was trying to find out the differences between the Rmax2 1000 and the x2 1000. With the suspension numbers so off base, you're not even close to helping. What is odd is Yamaha's website is pretty useless too...for $6000, all i can see is the shocks are different brand (fox vs sachs) and the rmax2 is 4 inches longer. Thinking perhaps the suspension/frame setup is different. Horrible branding/advertising by Yamaha for sure but I'm surprised someone with a channel isn't getting list of features/touchpoints when they're shipping you a 20k unit.

Why, because you want to spend the same amount of money for a loud, HOT, crappy suspension (yes even the S) SxS with an outdated CVT that can't hold a candle to Yamaha's?
