Ok my phone autocorrected her name to Honda and I just kind of want to leave it that way. I usually am the biggest on even encouraging others to be outspoken about their own names but the way she was just sent me so I'll let my phone insult her. Anyway, Honda was the worst. Up until when she went off on Joe I kind of figured that she came off as a spoiled child but going off on a dude that was just honest about what he needed and quietly sat in a corner until she said that "he just looked like he didn't like her" and then flipping out because he correctly pointed out that she made an assumption about him. I mean, I thought when Honda surveyed the room and saw multiple other POC, including two other Black folks, that it was pretty ballsy to START with "I'm Black in America" as your trump card but it really did not do her persecution complex justice like staring down the quietest person in the room and telling him to be quiet 🤣 I don't know that she's Muslim, there's lots of religions that cover their hair. But let's say that if that's what it is she could have started with "I'M A BLACK MUSLIM WOMAN IN AMERICA AND THAT SUCKS" and it would have been like, yeah i can see how it be that way. But you can't go for the low hanging fruit like she did. I try to be cautious about saying someone has a persecution complex but if you don't have one and you can both 1) say you deserve something right off the bat for the struggles that other people in the room are also facing and 2) get mad at someone who is just literally in the room with you because you don't like the face they are making just existing in the room with you; then I don't know what else to call it. (Chris made the same mistake too, he really held on to his race only. He should have really played up that he's a gay man and no one else in the room knows how hard it is to be a gay Black man, who is now unemployed. Now, there is some truth in this because queer Black men are heavily discriminated against, however I think he said he's been unemployed for 30 days. It's kind of far fetched to say that anything is really playing against you at 30 days unemployed. ) I'm not saying that these people should have all used their sex, gender, race. Religion, or sexuality to win the thing. I'm just saying that if they were going to try they should have done it right and with CONVICTION. You can't go halfway.

I think it steems from misogyny. lesbians don't center men in their lives, but thats a different topic. I too feel so bad for Ilah, she was so sweet and even when she first explained her situation she wasn't acting selfish even though she had every right to be. also like im 19 and a college student too and even for someone like me who lives at home its expensive. I’m a white passing mixed person. My life experience has been that poc people don’t accept me as a poc (and don’t acknowledge that I and my family are still affected by oppression) and white people view me as a poc. I have no community and I am discriminated by either side. Also for Jordan to be like “hispanic isn’t a race” to discredit her is rude. Hispanic and Latino are ethnicities. And more of a racial identity (I’m Hispanic and Latina, it’s just complicated and not clearly defined). Mexican and Latino isn’t a race but would you say a Mexican American doesn’t face racism because it’s not technically a race? No. And lots of Mexicans and other Latinos are white passing due to Spanish ancestry/colonization. It’s rude to discredit someone as a minority (solely based on their skin color) and assume they have not been affected by racial bias.

Yeah. 21:29 Shakera brings the outvoted (back) into the conversation. Joe's just responds: Sure. 21:31 Hodan immediately says "no, they antagonize me", recollecting individually who the outvoted voted for, according to her. With Joe, she basically admited not knowing how he voted (21:41). 21:45 And when Shakera wants to move along with the voting (I assume, she asks to pause the game, so they don't lose the money), Hodan stops the whole thing to tell Joe to be quiet. She went into gaslighting on turbomode there. Like, I know they are under stress, and having cameras on you changes your behaviour, but Hodan KIND OF seemed to have her mind together and then this?

Agreed. It was awful to watch. She's mentioned on her own YT channel that she has struggled with some pretty serious mental health issues and that she has PTSD and as someone who also has PTSD I _really_ recognized her reactions in myself. That's exactly what I do when I get overwhelmed or face any sort of confrontational atmosphere and my PTSD symptoms/fight or flight responses start to creep in. It can get so overwhelming and out of your control so quickly once it starts. She genuinely seems like such a sweet, mellow person so it hurt to see her break down like that.

@@01neveroddoreven10 I think his sentence structure was “they tell me they can’t hire me [because I’m black]” not “they tell me [they can’t hire me because I’m black]”. Jordan I'm usually on your side when watching these reacts (I think you usually have pretty nuanced, empathetic takes on things like this) but I think you were super harsh and insensitive towards Ilah for crying. I was disappointed to see how you responded to that part, especially with how open you've been with your own mental health experiences. As someone who also get's _incredibly_ anxious and overwhelmed with confrontational atmospheres it's not something that you can help nor is it something you're trying to do for attention. She was the youngest (and arguably the most in need) person there who was being relentlessly bullied by a group of *adults* who were behaving incredibly callously towards not only her but everyone in the room. It was very obvious that she was upset by the way they were willing to treat each other for the sake of the money and didn't want to partake in spite of genuinely _needing_ said money herself (pretty badly by the sounds of it). Hell, even *I* got weepy and overwhelmed just watching it from the safety and comfort of my own home, so with the length of filming and the atmosphere there in person I don't understand how that's not something you could empathize with her for (even if it wouldn't be _your_ response). She's a very sweet, sensitive person so personally it hurt my heart to see her break down on camera, I can't imagine mocking her for it. Hopefully it's something you'd learn from and approach with more kindness in future.

I feel like every single person in that group (except maybe Joe and Ilah, but they were to a lesser extent) we’re incredibly antagonistic and rude about the struggles people were going through. They have their own issues to sort out which is understandable but it doesn’t give them the right to bring others down and basically go “Okay but that’s not valid because I’m going through more.” The premise itself is harmful and dangerous but the way that everyone was so ready to hold a knife up to each other is CRAZY. They literally laughed in Ilah’s face for getting overwhelmed and crying, then mocked her for having a child and not using it as some sort of like “ULTIMATE REASON”, no one should have to do that.

Its such a weird thing. They're all fighting to be better than on another. They all just end of sounding like self-centered people. "I deserve the money" "well your issue isn't enough of an issue to -me- soo no"
