Most Canadians have to take out students loans. Their children can do the same. We also don't know what kind of private life insurance their father had. Yes, there are many Canadians who don't have life insurance. Btw the government of Canada gives $2500, before taxes, when someone dies. That's not enough to pay for the funeral expenses but it does help a little bit.

I think most of the time go fund me’s are ridiculous when a social media person is trying to get money. She absolutely should be the person helping her family. I did see one big social media person do a go fund me that I could support. He did it for a volunteer fire department. He didn’t ask for a huge amount and he matched the amount donated up to what he asked for. It ended up going way over the amount in the first day. Instead of leaving it up where he could have gotten a lot more he took it down and gave the money to the fire department. He also matched the amount that he said he would. I can respect that.

I personally, don't think this is a legit reason to make a Go fund me. Someone dies, you don't ask for money so their kids can "pursue their dreams for their futures". There are kids out there with 2 living parents who cant afford their dreams, but you make it work! You get loans, grants, a job and save money. At some point, it is the individual's job to pursue their own dreams, not the responsibility of strangers on the internet. It would sound much better if it just said, without his income, they are going to be in a lot of debt so they would like to minimize that burden so Josephine can get a stable footing financially. If they had just left out "to support their daughters in realizing their dreams". I think they added "the children" for a "sympathy" factor, but in my opinion, it backfires.

Because it seems that even tho her main channel is doing amazing her videos avarage on the 4-5 minutes mark. Lamont assuming the facts on someone else is like knowing other things on other ones on youtube. Maybe since you do certain kinds of video's you should of contacted her and found out her story. Remember this was not about her needs. But done for others. Yes times are hard every where's and some people are just bailey making it. But I' am pretty sure that mom with Kids could of used the extra help with paying off the funeral. Now a days is not like years past when people helped each other without it being questioned. If someone gives you enough for a meal your not going to say no to it. So why put the brakes on someone else getting help form their subscribers?

While Vanessa makes a decent income, I don’t think she should have to shoulder the whole burden of her family members. Also bear in mind that every dog Vanessa grooms she does it for FREE. She pays a lot to keep her business going as well. I don’t have a problem with gofundme’s because we have the choice to donate or not. One more thing, the goal was a measly $30k. Well, it’s nothing new, look at all the politicians who are worth millions, have 4 mansions with $12 to $15 million and have foundations where people have donated billions! That is why I don’t send money to anyone. I support my local animal shelter and take food donations or whatever they post on line that they need! I have donated to St Jude’s but that’s it! The issue is you really don’t know what they are using the money for, right?
