Just had this motherboard put into my build. Paired it with the Zotac 3090ti & overclocked and i9 12900ks 5.5ghz overclocked with 32gb of ddr5 6000mhz. Sold my old build and some collections of stuff to free up the money for it. Definitely 100% a nutty board and love it!

Awesome review an unboxing!! One important (crucial for me) detail is the Thunderbolt 4 port. All of the other motherboards that come with thunderbolt are way more expensive, so if you're planing on building a Thunderbolt PC, this Mobo doesn't seem so pricy anymore (considering the extra $ you'd be spending in a thunderbolt pcie card) :)

just got mine..with 64g fury ram.. i9..evga 3080ti ...lovin it thus far..use it primarily for sim racing.. and yes it does !..love the simple yet gorgeous look i put it in a fractal torrent case with a ROG aio cooler stays cool..thanks for the review

Great review. Do you have any thoughts on this boards usefulness on higher end 13th and 14 gen CPUs. More specifically, I am contemplating whether or not it be a complete waste of time trying trying to pair this board(currently on sale for $250) with a 14700k or 14900k since it does not support the higher ram frequencies of Z790?

Appreciate it! All of the 12, 13, or 14th gen chips should work perfectly on this board. The Z790 does feature higher memory OC speeds, but we're talking like 500MHz+. Definitely not a waste of time.

I recently installed the z790 version of this board with a 13th gen i9 13900k. It is a beautiful board and the most coin I've ever spent on a new build. Cinebench without OC is a solid 40k. The price went up another $100 bucks since last year too.

According to the official page, the case supports up to E-ATX, so it should fit just fine. Might be some overhang if anything.

Can someone tell me if the Msi z690 Ace will work with the LG Ultrafine 5k Monitor? And also have the built-in camera and microphone working as well? The reason I asked is that I had for a while a Trident X which had the onboard thunderbolt and everything worked (camera and microphone) perfectly fine. Now I have an Asus Z690 motherboard with the Thunderboltex 4 card and even though the display works fine at full 5K the camera and mic don't work at all. So, I was thinking to jump to this motherboard instead.

Unfortunately, I have no experience with thunderbolt connectivity and the finicky nature of it yet, so I don't think I can provide any useful info. However, that monitor requires at least a Thunderbolt 3 connection to work, and this board has Thunderbolt 4 ports so I see no reason why it shouldn't work...

Getting this mobo with Corsair 6200mhz ram, for the 13900k, I was a little confused with what you meant about the ram speed, I'm worried now it won't be able to xmp to 6200mhz

@@FlexxRG Thanks man! No need to be worried. The official supported RAM speed is just an Intel guideline, the actual max RAM speed depends on the motherboard, and this motherboard supports speeds of 6666MHz and up.
