My father-in-law used to clean windows in England. They clean their windows every week or two. I only do mine twice a year. He taught me to use a cotton cloth rinsed well in warm water. Then soak in one or two drops of dish liquid and about 1/2 gallon of water. I put my cloth on the end of a swiffer mop and wash the windows and mirrors. I never wash the cotton cloth in the washing machine. Everything comes out so clean and there are no streaks. The biggest plus is there is no expense on cleaning spray etc.

Hi again Amanda, Okay, I have 2 recipes for you to try out - windows and powerwash. I have tried out both and absoultely love them. No I’m not from Arizona but I have been living in a new area in our town and for the past 5 years there’s been construction (including dynamiting) so dust and dirt on the windows, I know what you’re talking about. So for windows: in a bucket add 4 cups hot water, 1 cup white vinager, +/- 2 tsps Hertel cleaner (if you don’t have Hertel, I would try dish soap or something similar), microfibre cloth. The fun part is you don’t have to dry your windows - yeah! So dunk your microfiber in the solution wringing it out only enough that it doesn’t drip everywhere. Wash your window and sill. Now dunk again in same solution to rinse out the dirt and now wring out your microfibre. Do a second pass on your window - it won’t be dry but leave it be and go to the next one - tada! To try it is to adopt it. Now for the powerwash solution, which I was sceptical at first but it works and it’s cheap: use an empty container of dawn powerwash to measure water quantity… 4 tbsps dawn dish soap, 2 tbsps rubbing alcohol, 13 fl oz water. Shake a bit before use. Wonderful, it works! Hope you take the time to try this out and if it works, share it on a video. The window recipe I have had for years; don’t remember where I found this. The powerwash I found on internet. Have a great week and don’t forget to enjoy life. Oh and buy the way, I have been spreading your way on how to store t-shirts on hangars instead of folding them, to save time - thanks for the tip.

Amanda, when you first use the sponge with the power paste you need to soak it in warm water it will soften up then. The scour daddy is super. I hope you grow to love thwm both.

The kitchen looks great! It was fun watching the process. I am a fan of the ecloths with just water. I’m trying to limit the amount of chemicals we use. The spinning scrubber is great for giving a quick scrub to the floor before mopping. No more hands and knees! I finally got a stream cleaner after seeing yours, and my sliding door tracks have never been cleaner. My hack for baked-on grease is putting the pans in the really big ziplock bags with a cup of ammonia. Leave it outside for a day or two, and they clean up like magic. I mostly do my stove burners, oven racks and broiling pan, but it should work on baking pans.

I am not sure if someone has said it already. But I use the Swiffer hack for my mirrors. I put the cloth as close to one side of the cloth. Wipe with spray (and you can probably use less Sprayway), then move the cloth down to a dry spot on the cloth and wipe excess cleaner and streaks. It works perfect for me this way. .... oops. I watched the rest of the video and saw that you saw this already :)

Almost makes me want to try them 🙂I use Norwex mostly and have been doing the micro fiber cloth hack for mirrors for a while now, I just use a spray bottle with water. Best thing ever. I bought a shower cleaner too! I love it! I don't have as many attachment as you, but it's working great and the battery life is excellent. I was very impressed at how powerful it cleans. As far as the shower scrubber, I haven’t enjoyed mine as much as I thought I would. Although it saves me from bending, it is heavy. I also don’t get much pressure on the scrubbing end. Then there is the problem of finding an out of the way place to charge it. I can tell how thrilled you are with your kitchen. You should be….it is a beautiful and a major improvement. I loved watching that renovation. NOW…..I have to get out of my recliner and get to cleaning before my motivation goes away!

I just wanna add a quick hack on cleaning blinds I just did this today in my clients home. I’ll take old white socks and I will dip them in the solution to clean blinds. We have whatever is your choice and I will take the rag and ring it out, put it on my hand and use it like a sock puppet this way you can clean both sides by your thumb on the underside and your four fingers on the top side and you can go right across and there’s a whole lot less rinsing to do and you will see how dirty your blinds really are works so good this way you get both sides at one time
