Hey Paul, This is a really interesting video you made. I really like how you took all the information you learned on my channel, and then decided to try, and make an instructional video for your audience. The title you used "Beginners guide to building a CNC Electronics Enclosure" portrays to your audience like you're an authority on the subject, but never mentioned me, and, or my channel as the main source for your reference material. This is very misleading to your audience, and I'll give you 24 hours to correct the video by explaining in it my channel was the resource you used to become, so knowledgeable on the topic that you felt you are able to teach others using my information. Thank you, Vince

Hi Vince, Sorry to burst your bubble, but your influence on my design choices for the CNC enclosure was very minimal, probably less than 1%. While I appreciate the effort you’ve put into your content, to suggest that I heavily relied on it is far from accurate. I tried to watch a few of your videos, but I quickly turned to other sources for a few reasons, some suggestions for improvements: Audio Quality - The constant background noise, especially the fan, makes it really hard to focus. Learn how to use noise removal or just turn off the fan during recording, it would make a world of difference. Camera Work - The low res, unsteady footage was distracting. A tripod and a better camera would definitely improve the quality of your videos. Video Length & Editing - Your videos tend to drag on far too long. Some tighter editing and the use of timestamps would make it easier for viewers to skip to the important parts instead of watching 40 minutes for a few key points. I spent hundreds of hours researching this topic, and here’s where I got the vast majority of my information: Reddit HobbyCNC & Machinist Subreddits CNCZone CNCDrive MYCNCUK Practical Machinist UK Workshop PrintNC Discord (super helpful) PrintNC Wiki ChatGPT KZbinrs: WinstonMoy BuildyourCNC UptimeFab ProjectsbyBrian John Ward Buildbug MakingStuff CNC4xr7 GBWM DIYCNC Your content made up less than 1% of my overall research, but I still appreciate your contributions, however small they were 👍 You seem to enjoy the drama side of youtube, so I'll leave you to it in your little corner on this platform. All the best, Paul

do you have a link for the enclosure?

Sure, amzn.to/3TBu4DG or uk.vevor.com/electrical-enclosure-c_10749 Keep an eye out on eBay and Amazon listing as the price fluctuates a lot for these

If the GX connectors are installed correctly. Then the connector will be in contact with the cable's shielding, which in turn is in contact with the enclosure housing... Also, shielding still works when it isn't grounded (eddy currents are produced to counter the EMI), just not as effective. PS: Don't fall for the "Double-shielded" snake oil*. TVs and satellite signals work fine passing UHF through coxaxial cables (no foil), and the output from the VFD is sub 400hz. Unless your machine is generating arcs/ plasma, your machine shouldn't be gernerating a high level of EMI. the 50/ 60hz from the grid is prevalent in the enviroment (and reminents of the big bang) & switching power supples are like electronic mosquitoes, electronic noise isn't new or unique. Rambling, but the point this problem is already solved. The most useful function on your multimeter is continuity, use it! Protip: A good source of cheap shielded cable for low voltage electronics is cannibalising eithernet and USB cables, just check the ampage meets your requirements. K.I.S.S. *Hi Vince👋 (he deletes comments that question/ call him out. Notice they're all positive?)

Here's some links Garth because its apparent you don't use Google confirming what fact is sir. You stated shielding works if it isn't grounded huh? www.google.com/search?q=shield+drains+must+be+grounded+to+dissipate+emi&oq=shield+drains+must+be+grounded+to+dissipate+emi&gs_lcrp=EgZjaHJvbWUyBggAEEUYOTIHCAEQIRigATIHCAIQIRigATIHCAMQIRigAdIBCjE2ODY1ajBqMTWoAgiwAgE&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 Double shielded cable is "snake oil" Why do spindle's require it then? Oh wait you need more proof. Here you go. www.google.com/search?q=double+shielded+cable+is+more+effective+that+single+shielded+cable+for+cnc+applications&sca_esv=89b9e73d172150e9&sca_upv=1&ei=8xnwZqmlKYPcwN4P6cPl0Q0&ved=0ahUKEwjp6vm_0taIAxUDLtAFHelhOdoQ4dUDCA8&uact=5&oq=double+shielded+cable+is+more+effective+that+single+shielded+cable+for+cnc+applications&gs_lp=Egxnd3Mtd2l6LXNlcnAiV2RvdWJsZSBzaGllbGRlZCBjYWJsZSBpcyBtb3JlIGVmZmVjdGl2ZSB0aGF0IHNpbmdsZSBzaGllbGRlZCBjYWJsZSBmb3IgY25jIGFwcGxpY2F0aW9uc0juLVCwBVi9J3ABeAGQAQCYAWOgAbUBqgEBMrgBA8gBAPgBAZgCAaACBMICChAAGLADGNYEGEeYAwCIBgGQBgiSBwExoAeQBQ&sclient=gws-wiz-serp Keep on trying 👋 These are confirmed by Google, and not me with direct links. I wonder if you'll admit your wrong? Thank you, Vince

Hi Gareth, thanks very much for the input, i knew id get a few things wrong when i published this video haha. i've been testing continuity a lot on this enclosure and did notice that the GX sockets were grounded when I was testing but i wasnt sure so I thought id get less resistance if it was a wired connection through the GX socket for the ground. Its good to know this though 👍 Noted on the double shielding, and makes sense when you show the TV signals as an example.
