I was in Omagh at the time. I was just 5 years old. Luckily, I was at home with Mom. We are fine at the time but if we were there near the bomb, I wouldn't have typed this comment.

It's all just so sad. I tried reading and watching about the troubles. I must be dumb but....if there is someone there can give me a truthful account? I live in the USA, and of course most would think, "well this won't happen here" Oh yes but it could..just saddened at all the loss of life during that time. And a question: is there still any kind of violence going on today? 2023 And thank you!

I'm not the best person to be answering this (I don't live in NI) but I do believe that there are sporadic attacks by groups. The New IRA conducts attacks against the British still and has taken a hatred towards drug dealers (thanks to RAAD). There's also the Continuity IRA which does similar things on a smaller scale.
