This is not just a "Motorbike Champion". He road the bike with the least amount of electronical assistance, he had full throttle on places no one else had, he was the last to win on a ducati (a fierce bike no one else tamed in the same fashion), he has won on every track he has raced on Moto GP. He's a legend. And he achieved this legendary statue by the time of his retirement and the young age of 27. This is one of the greatest motorbike riders ever. He trully was that insanely good.

@thomascriviera5779 2 жыл бұрын
Essay warning (as I like to keep all possibilities open for discussion and avoid a hate war on me or something.) Though, for the clutch/downshift moment there is a bit of unrealism. Cruise appears to be using his right hand lever (or the tape is put in flipped horizontally and it is the left one), which generally(!) Is actuating the front brake, not the clutch. In that case Cruise would have jolted forward hard when pulling the lever that hard and much, just maybe he would lose front grip all together at worst. Another case is that he wanted to load up the front wheel by braking and that he did shift down without the use of the clutch. But then we get back to the force and distance he moves the lever causing him to likely lose grip (as the sudden increase in load on the front tire, which it cannot shed as fast as it gets it, causes it to physically turn to 'glass', as explained by Yt'er RyanF9) rather than create grip (by increasing the contact patch due to the weight shifting forward). And I said generally(!) as maybe those odd Germans from BMW thought if something different or something, but I can say for sure that my '03 CB500S has the front brake on the right lever, and clutch on the left lever. Thank you for reading, and Have a nice day :)

Slight correction. Legendary stuntman Bud Ekins made the jump in The Great Escape. A good friend of Steve McQueen, he also worked on Bullit. And Stoner's modesty is almost as epic as his racing career. Amazing rider whose picture should next to the definition of "fast" in the dictionary. For those not in to motorcycle racing, MotoGP is the top class in the world. That's where the factories build the fastest motorcycles they can and put the best racers in the world on them. Twice, on two different brands, Casey Stoner was the best of the best in the world for Honda and Ducati.

Funny enough, the scenes in Skyfall were filmed with Robbie Madison (FMX legend) as Daniel Craig’s stunt double. So all the incredibly difficult bike stunts like riding up the stairs, riding the skinny lines on the roofs, and the drop into the market discussed in this video were all performed by a real rider (Robbie) so therefore it’s all realistic, (minus the keys being left in the bike 😆, unless it was simply just a kickstart)

As of the BMW R1200C (from the James Bond movie), I used to have one (actually the same 1997 model and colour) and I can confirm it sounds pretty much as a scooter. Once I was stopped by the police for a random check and the officer was so disappointed with the output of the exhaust, that he advised me to "change it to something with a decent sound". :)

I don't know much at all about MotoGP, but I know that Casey Legend is a household name here in Australia, because he's THAT good. I think he's being quite humble about his abilities here!

In his times, and mostly until now, there is no one else with casey's talent. He slides the bike through most of the corners keeping the bike on the limit. What an absolute legend

To be fair to "realism", I wouldn't be surprised if lots of bikes in 3rd world countries (as in bond film when he makes the comment) have just been hot wired since that's probably cheaper than replacing a lost key.

@@Texas240 Not only that, what I've seen there is that many people just leave the key in, especially if it's a short period... It's not that strange in a neighborhood they know. The same with cars, many aren't even locked.

I still love going back and watching Stoner’s classic races against Rossi. He reminds me of Aaron Rodgers, with Rossi being Brady. He may be more talented but Rossi has all the accolades.
