A couple of years ago, I worked Casino Security. We had a group of Mongols come in and sit at the bar. About 30 minutes later a group of Hell's Angels came in and sat at another bar across the room. We actually had experience with both groups as they would both come in at one time or another to play or drink or whatever, but never at the same time. Both the Hell's Angels and Mongols were actually really chill if you talked to any of them, however we were stressed to the max just waiting for something to pop off. Thankfully both groups just stuck to themselves. We were expecting the opposite.

The Club does not profit from or have anything to do with that business. So it was prohibited . There is kind of a don’t ask don’t tell rule. Hi from the UK. Thank you for a down to earth no bullshit interview. I became a patch holder in 1974 and became sergeant at arms of that group. The more dominant group in the county set out to be the only group in the county and the inevitable happened. A lot of people got hurt quite badly with one also killed in the general fallout. I ended up being the only person who dared to still wear my colours (no, I was not brave, just young and stubborn) and displayed the intent to take on the whole chapter that had been hunting us, when eventually they caught up with me. I remember thinking 'this is it'. Nothing happened they just rode by staring hard at me. A few days later they called at my place, (an ex member of the same chapter as me had told them where to find me). I was offered the chance to keep my old colours with honour and also my rank as they happened to be short of a sergeant at arms for some reason. Common sense prevailed as the conversation was not animated, and some few days later I agreed with their terms. Years of ups and downs followed (you know what I mean). I'm 68 now and still riding but no longer a patch holder. Thanks for the memories, keep safe. Dog.

One thing about the Hells Angels beef with the Mongols. I've heard the bottom rocker story for years but a few years ago I saw a docu series with George Christie. He said that a formal Angel ratted on club members or got some one killed. But basically that guy ran away and joined the Mongols. At the time the Mongols accepted anyone that can ride. When they saw him at an event the traitor hid with the Mongols and a war began. From the way that Mongols still take anyone fairly easily, it's a plausible scenario.

I once interacted with a group of Mongols on my wedding day. My groomsmen took me to a restaurant close to the venue before the ceremony so that I wouldn’t see my bride before then and we we got a table that just happened to be next to a group of Mongols (and their “old ladies”). Since we were all in our nice suits, we certainly stuck out as much as they did and thus caught their attention. So we ended up chatting with them for a bit and they were actually very nice, much to my surprise and relief. I doubt anyone like that could ever be a part of my social groups, but maybe it was a good omen that we ran into each other for I ended up having one of the best days of my life. I only hope those folks are doing okay despite the lifestyle they chose.

I know what you mean. I know a lot of Bandidos and just about everyone I met was super cool. They may have treated me better because I grew up with the #2's son and he was my soccer coach. Most of them are just normal dudes. But they have a 10% just like the rest of the planet that screw it up for everyone.

I remember when I was in Montebello elementary school in 1970, I saw a handful of Mongols hanging out at a school friend's house. Then a few months later that handful grew to dozens then dozens more. I was afraid to walk down Greenwood Avenue when they were there. I thought they were the Hells Angele's but later learned they were the Mongols.

Getting into law enforcement I expected motorcycle clubs/gangs to be very intimidating and dangerous. So far, having dealt with a few dozen of them, I've been severely disappointed. Mostly its immature adults who hate being accountable for their actions and fold as soon as a tiny bit of pressure gets put onto them. Overweight, never in fighting shape, and mostly individually broke. The most dangerous ones seem to be the ones trying to get their patch...That would be scary except they seem to always be living on Moms couch and cant hold a simple job. Informative video though.

A lot of them aren’t in WitPro, a lot of them just left that life without having problems, some of them have died because of it, but that happened a lot years ago, nowadays, atleast in the US it’s different, for example with MC’s, a lot of the time they just operate under a ‘no contact’ law for people that left

For anyone wondering what it is really like, Mooch is telling the God’s honest truth. I was involved in an adjacent club around the same time as Mooch in a different state, and his description is as accurate as it gets from our club as well. He isn’t kidding about cops exaggerating… I have read and seen supposed reports that I was literally there for and it was entirely embellished. I am long past those days now, but I look back fondly and I always laugh when someone gets their ideas about being clubbed up from some true crime show or SOA. Also to add for those doubting, the no dealing drugs rule was a very real thing for most clubs in that era. That is absolutely true. Not everyone followed it, but they got their patches pulled pretty quick if they got caught.
