A couple of years ago, I worked Casino Security. We had a group of Mongols come in and sit at the bar. About 30 minutes later a group of Hell's Angels came in and sat at another bar across the room. We actually had experience with both groups as they would both come in at one time or another to play or drink or whatever, but never at the same time. Both the Hell's Angels and Mongols were actually really chill if you talked to any of them, however we were stressed to the max just waiting for something to pop off. Thankfully both groups just stuck to themselves. We were expecting the opposite.

The Club does not profit from or have anything to do with that business. So it was prohibited . There is kind of a don’t ask don’t tell rule. What you do on your own time is YOUR business, you keep it far away from the Club. One thing about the Hells Angels beef with the Mongols. I've heard the bottom rocker story for years but a few years ago I saw a docu series with George Christie. He said that a formal Angel ratted on club members or got some one killed. But basically that guy ran away and joined the Mongols. At the time the Mongols accepted anyone that can ride. When they saw him at an event the traitor hid with the Mongols and a war began. From the way that Mongols still take anyone fairly easily, it's a plausible scenario.

My groomsmen took me to a restaurant close to the venue before the ceremony so that I wouldn’t see my bride before then and we we got a table that just happened to be next to a group of Mongols (and their “old ladies”). Since we were all in our nice suits, we certainly stuck out as much as they did and thus caught their attention. So we ended up chatting with them for a bit and they were actually very nice, much to my surprise and relief. I doubt anyone like that could ever be a part of my social groups, but maybe it was a good omen that we ran into each other for I ended up having one of the best days of my life. I remember someone suggesting that gang kids weren't able to follow rules so they shouldn't be expected to..... A local youth counselor burst out laughing. She said, "The first thing that happens when you want to join a gang is they tell you all their rules. And why you'd better follow them." Marginalized people, but also dysfunctional people are attracted to outsider lifestyles, but if you want to join a group like a biker gang, you have to be willing to accept their structure, expectations, and follow the rules. Of course, at some level there is chaos, but usually controlled chaos. A student one time threatened that her father, a gang member, was going to kick my butt at Back To School Night. Latino society is generally more polite than Norte Americano society so it's always best to act respectfully. It's a good lesson anywhere. He came into my room, I was respectful, he was respectful. And my student, his daughter? She absolutely beamed with pride. Another time he came in with his arm in a sling. He'd been shot. I hope she's doing well.

@@HgRoller and maybe that's the disconnect. I don't see how living a violent life promotes brotherhood, discipline and camaraderie unless you mentally have something going on. Fortunately for me my 9-5 grants me access to all the finer things in life, less stress, access to incredible experiences, and I wake up not having to look over my shoulder when I riding my motorcycle. I'm no expert but I've seen other interviews and histories of Hell's Angels etc with the actual reason for 1% patch which is not exactly what he says here. It can easily be checked. The American Motorcycle Association stated: “99% of the motorcycling public are law-abiding; there are 1% who are not.” So as a response, they started wearing a patch to indicate they were that 1%. So it wasn't about following the rules of the association it was a sort of joke response to the motorcycle association saying 99% of bikers are decent law-abiding citizens.

What he says is literally what you said. Re-watch... He said the turn of phrase came from the AMA but it meant that they were doing illegal gang activity.
@AnyoneCanSee2 ай бұрын
@@AnarexicSumo-He says, "The one-percenter definition was the one percent of the motorcycle clubs that didn't abide by the rules of the American Motorcycle Association." As I say this isn't exactly the reason as although it comes from a statement by the AMA it has nothing to do with the fact they don't follow the recommended rules of the AMA for running motorcycle clubs. The AMA made a blanket press statement to disassociate motorcycle users from criminal activity. That statement was “99% of the motorcycling public are law-abiding; there are 1% who are not.” It isn't about following their rules for running a motorcycle club it is a blanket statement that 99% of people who own a motorcycle are law-abiding citizens. The AMA do have a dedicated club constitution and rules that you can download from their website to help people set up a motorcycle club which cover safety and so forth. However, this isn't what it is about as there are thousands of motorcycle clubs that don't use AMA rules but are not criminal and the statement wasn't even about motorcycle clubs it was about anyone who owned a motorcycle. It's not a big deal but what he said isn't accurate according to every other source and just the reading what the AMA actually said.

Every biker gang does. They try to say they aren't racists especially when you talk about the Altamont concert and the HA killed that black guy Hunter. He was with a white girl. They'll say he had a gun to shoot Jagger. He pulled the gun to stop the angels beating him up.
@sernoddicusthegallant6986Ай бұрын
As I understand their reasoning is because state prisons in america are very racially segregated and the culture spread out from that after bikers would spend a lot of time in prison. Idk how accurate that is.

Clubs demand respect. 1973, I’m 16 yrs old. Taking my new Honda 500/4 from Chicago to Alpina Mi. to visit my Uncle at his military base. Going fast like I always did. I Came up upon a group of Hells Angles. I was passing on the left, a few members reached out as if to grab me. I knew I had made a mistake. I think the members recognized I was just a kid with a fast bike. They waved me by. I didn’t go slower than 120 for an hour, got off the freeway and took local roads for the rest of the day.

I lived in Los Angeles from 1997-2009 and I would see them in West Covina and the El Monte area fairly often. I would also see packs of Hells Angels going down the 101 in the valley and also going north on the 405/5 freeways. I don’t know if it’s the same today. I was back on LA a couple years ago and I didn’t even recognize it. What they have done to that beautiful state is criminal. A lot of my friends who have been there since the 90’s have moved back to Phoenix and they were the ones that were never going to leave LA. It’s just so sad looking at what these politicians did to that gorgeous state

The best things motorcycle clubs do that gangs don’t is the hang around/prospect stage and age requirement. It keeps the numbers down and maintains the integrity of the club. A lot of other gang members naturally have a hang around period, but some don’t, and none really “prospect” now. All sorts idiots and psycho just join them and they answer to no one really
