I have a Nalgene bottle. Love it. I started working for Nalge in 1985 for the tubing product department. Then in 1998 my boss now Bill Scott and King Beck bought the business. It's been 38 years for me making tubing and still make Nalge tubing to this day. Very proud to have worked for Nalge. Great products from a great company.

I will be a Nalgene customer for life. Despite being made in the USA, their prices are very good. I've used the 32 oz "wide mouth" for about 15 years and recently got the 24 oz "On the Fly." Love them too. The Tritan plastic they are made with now isn't quite as strong as the old polycarbonate, but it's much safer to drink from. It's a good trade-off.

Back when I started my job at Nalge my children weren't born yet. Then My oldest son was born and I became a Dad, so proud I am to see him grow into the man he is today at Tesla cars. Then My next son was born and now he's 6'1' and into fitness like I should be lol. He's living in Syracuse and work for Natural Grid on the high lines. Very proud Dad I am. Then I had a daughter. She worked in a few different jobs and one was the Post office. Very very very proud Dad. The job we have mean so much in raising our families. We grow with the companies we work for. I just got home from work making VWR tubing plus Nalgene tubing. I love my job when we branched off the Nalgene business and I love my job even more today. We make Dairy farm tubing as well. I hate to retire coming up in a few years being 62 this year and the longest worker at FLEX. Got to keep all these awesome jobs going strong just like our parents or families did for us as we were growing up. I grew up in Skaneateles New York class of 1980 and born in Syracuse NY. Hard work pays off in all ways.... Keep up the great work Nalge. I'll always be proud to have worked for you starting in 1985-1999 🥂

I am a big fan of Nalgene. At home, I will heat water to almost boiling. Then pour into the Nalgene bottle. This is not to purify tap water. It is to let the water cool and create a vacuum in the bottle. I then make a label with the date and pack the bottle in my backpacking/camping kits. The water is good for about one year. Lesser quality bolttle melt when hot water is put in them. Of course, I also use Nalgene for daily use. Nalgene is the only "plastic" bottle I buy.

Wrong, single use bottles contain ingredients that after some time aren’t very healthy. That’s why there’s a best before date on mineral water. Recycling doesn’t mean that something disappears, it means that it can serve another purpose after it’s thrown away. Some plastics are recyclable, some aren’t because for example they’re so thin you can’t do anything with them, like single use plastic bags
@hannahherrmann49213 жыл бұрын
What exactly do you think recycling is? Also, there are plastics made of plant fiber, which does break down
@Ensensu23 жыл бұрын
@@bartomiejm4611 Single use plastic bags are still great for cutting apart into loops to chain together to practice knitting, crochet and nalbinding. Some of these loops do break, most survive to become something new anyway. Industrially though, yes, plastic bags tend to clog recycling systems, so humanity has to be creative to recycle them industrially, but they can serve at least one purpose.

I own both nalgene and hydroflask and I've used them over the years and noticed the pros and cons. Hydroflask bottle serves both extreme hot and extreme cold water. It may be hard for you to drink them right away, it's like you either gonna burn your tongue or freeze your mouth. Nalgene is good to drink on the go. Hot or cold, it will serve you at room temperature within minutes. Cons for both would be washing them to clean.

Mostly because i lose them! I've thrown a few away one or two because it got all scratched up on the inside (maybe i shouldn't use sponges with the scrubber). Still love these. But FYI only #1 and #2 plastic is recyclable (and barely). The rest of the numbers are clever propaganda from the oil companies. I died a little inside when i learned this in college. Then it was reinforced by an internship, followed by KZbin, and various Earth Days events. Use them til you lose them is my attitude.
