I live in Toronto. This concert was on local TV for free. A live simulcast. They played back to back nights. It was supposed to be The Who's last concert ( turned out it wasn't). I was too young to go but i had older friends that were there. Awesome stuff.! Thanks gents.

Roger Daltry, the blond, buff guy playing guitar to the left of Pete Townshend (pronounced Towns- end-- h is silent) usually sings lead, but Pete is next after Roger In "Bubba O'Reilly," Roger sings lead. Please review the Who's "Don't Get Fooled Again"-- my favorite Who song. The lyrics are so pertinent to today. Also, "Behind Blue Eyes" and "Reign O'r Me" are really cool, as well.

Saw this concert exactly one week earlier in Worcester, Massachusetts, my first concert with The WHO. It was a fantastic experience. The energy in the crowd was palpable, because, at the time, it was The WHO's last show in the U.S.. Roger Daltry, the blond in the middle, is not really a Guitar Player, but he wasn't singing, his usual gig, so he had to be doing something during this song. A great concert, the funest song to me was "Sister Disco". Lots of lights and energy and a great vibe.

Pete Townshend...."Eminence Front" was written around a chord progression I discovered on my faithful Yamaha E70 organ. I hesitate to try to explain what it was about. It's clearly about the absurdity of drug-fueled grandiosity, but whether I was pointing the finger at myself or at the cocaine dealers of Miami Beach is hard to recall" 😃

I was 16 and they were filmed, in Toronto canada. i watched this full live show on TV along with millions of fans. It was supposed to be their "Farewell Tour". This whole live show front to back from Toronto is a great live act. They were on. (no Moon tho) Watch more from this show. Pete was way ahead of his time in terms of sampling and sequencing. Way ahead! Dig deep into the past of his life and you'll see he was searching for a sound very "modern" compared to what else was going on. A tortured soul, Pete has been working on the sampling/sequencing stuff since the mid 1960's and back then he sorta made a lot of his own equipment. Modifying and patching things together till he got it right, he was never really happy with it. Still an iconic band with some serious talent. Cheers from Ottawa Ontario.

This was the post Keith Moon-80s-version of The Who. It’s a great song, because Pete Townsend is a great songwriter, but this version of the band never came close to their former greatness. They were the premiere hard rock band of the 70s, with classics like, “Won’t Get Fooled Again,” “Behind Blue Eyes,” “Who Are You?,” “Magic Bus,” “Pinball Wizard,” and a bunch more.

King 👑Corey, Fabulous 🎩🎀Fenom & Hollywood 🎥🎬Ollie, When I 1st heard Eminence Front by The Who was an Episode of Miami Vice called Killshot their on Don Johnson aka Sonny Crockett's boat making a 2 key drug deal. Crockett's cop buddy's r undercover waiting on Crockett's word, then when he says the word then the cops start shooting n the fireworks start to happen. Then Crockett starts his fast boat then rides away from his cop buddies as they chase him n the drug dealer in their boat as they hide n try to make a set up meeting with a drug cartel. Then he drop's off the dealer in the water n takes off on his boat. I also heard this song on a AWA American Wrestling Association promo intro. This would be a great intro song for wrestling or boxing. U need to a reaction to Won't get fooled again n Roger Daltrey's After The Fire. Plus the soundtrack is mostly by The Who & other artists. Check it out!

The audio quality sounds so much better on the studio version than this live version from a time when television set audio quality was poor. That's not on The Who because they nailed the tune in that performance. It's just a fact of the early eighties and the lag in audio quality as video began to take over. Video audio quality improved later in the decade and definitely by the nineties. Also check out the studio version. You can still hear the introduction of the song used during sporting broadcasts sometimes even now.
