I lived in Europe for years and coming back to Canada was awful. I hate it here so much and it's become way worse in the past few years. The weird thing is, I find when majority of Canadians ask me if I missed Canada when I was away or "was I happy to be back" and I tell them the truth (a short, less intense version of what I ranted here) they would seem personally offended and snap at me saying "well why don't you move back to Europe then?! Get out of my country!!" I can't wait to move overseas again btw, I'm planning to. I was born in Canada. There is a strange cult-like, group-think mentally here and it seems if you don't agree that Canada is the best country in the world, you're attacked verbally for it. I was raised in Canada and have lived here for the majority of my life. I lived in Europe for 5 years. I think I can make a well-informed decision after my experiences and it's really strange that you're not allowed to say anything other than praise for Canada here.

Homelessness is just not about poverty Also many people giving up on life Renounce taking any decisions or responsibility It is strangely liberating You can not change the laws of physics 220 volt is going to kill your 120V appliances (motors, heating element) Portable computers power go through the battery So it can handle both Desk top do have adaptor funtion for internaitonal sale sake (No element and very small motor easier to adapt)

I live in Toronto and I would love to hear some rowdy swearing and drinking in a bar...just once even...I miss that...of course I am Irish!!! Canadians are so polite they can be suffocating.

i agree Ireland has more culture and more of a personality. the Canadians lack soul and are a bit too serious.

Would not blame the water too fast Electrical heating is the all encompassing culprit Tipping is 15% And remains compulsory (Waiters, barbers, taxi) I dont leave tips in stores Good if parking is limited in MTL Take public transit Which will make it even better (With Covid many stores have gone back offering delivery)

It's my third week in Canada (Nova Scotia) and although Montreal and Halifax are very different obviously there is point that you are spot on. The tipping thing? That is plain ridiculous. I worked in various bars and restaurants throughout my Bsc back in the UK and my mindset had always been that I needed to earn my tips ie. excel at the service provided. Here? Minimum 15% and recommended 20-25% is just garbage. I just stopped going to places where they expect the tip altogether, not that I can't afford it, but it's outreagous honestly and I don't want to be a part of it :/

Why would you pay a 20% tip for a bottle of water? If it was a retail situation or kiosk then no tipping and if it was served to you in a sit down restaurant then the tip was for the restaurant service.

it was at a nightclub. at restaurants I’m ok with tipping 20% 👻

Every country has it's advantages & disadvantages. Personally, I just love Canada. My aunty's house is in Surrey, Vancouver. I have been there a few times. And I loved all the skyscrapers, friendly & kind people, the husle & bustle of the city. I really miss Canada a lot. Btw Yuli, how was your travel back to Canada?

I do not think the restaurant management wants customers who just order water. That table (20 square feet space) has to produce and, more importantly, give a chance to make money to people working in the kitchen. You cannot afford 20% of the customers ordering water only, at the same time. So, here's where the tip comes in handy. The longer you stay in the restaurant, the higher you should tip. It's not only about paying for what you get, you have to pay for their "loss of productivity" as well.

I was living in Europe and am now visiting Canada and yes, all those things. The high cost of just E-V-E-R-Y-T-H-I-N-G! and the tip programed into the POS machine is giving me hives! Like, why??

I heard cocroaches? I hate spiders, specially the gigantic eight legged monsters we have in Montreal, but we live together in peace. I keep killing them until the day they kill me. But cocroaches is a no no.

I am planning to move to Edmonton in January'24 as I have my long term partner there but I can't find any good PG programs in IT open for January intake. ( Should I opt for a diploma/Post diploma) (If I take program in eg- Toronto will that create a problem in me getting a job in Edmonton because of difference in province) (Can you help me n let me know if u know any PG programs in (development or AI) in Edmonton.

Did you live in other countries like Sweden, France where crime is high. I personally think Europe has more homeless , which are immigrants. Homeless in Canada usually are Canadian born and drug addicts. Construction is good because 🇨🇦 is growing. You only compare 🇨🇦 with Portugal. So it's not fair your statement Europe vs Canada. You compare only Montreal vs Portugal
