I moved to Canada as a single young man ( Edmonton )last year. I was doing not bad in my home country ( 3rd world ). I came to try to find a better future and a better country to raise a family, but I was all wrong. I’m working on 16.5$/hour pre tax, with barely paying rent, food, transportation and mobile data. I’ve been insulted 3 times during this year on transit by homeless and addicts that I’ve never met without any reason . One of them spit at me, one slapped me and one pulled a knife at me. I literally never met them and didn’t even look at them. I’ve even saw people for 3 times shit on the bus and LRT.There is no career development in this country, you’ll just keep on living from paycheck to paycheck with 0 savings. I go to work and get back home, I don’t go out because there is nothing to do especially in harsh winters, i ended up taking anti-stress pills. I’m really disappointed with Canada and I left a month ago for good on a one way ticket, there is no way to come back. It’s just the opposite of what is promoted about this country. It’s very expensive, a lot of people are homeless and addicts that could hurt you randomly, depressing weather with 0 social life and no career development. What a waste of money and time. My country which is a 3rd world country is way safer, enthusiastic and vital than Canada. The country is busy focusing on decriminalizing drugs and homosexuality rather than focusing on fixing drastic issues that are pushing the country to the edge , things that make Canada a good place for families and education for children.

I am a born and bred 2nd generation Canadian and I agree with you and with everything said in this video. I am age 65 and need 2 leg joint replacements, it will take me TWO YEARS just to see a bone and joint specialist and then at least half a year to get surgery, I may not be able to walk in six months. That means I will not be able to work if I so choose, I made the mistake of choosing Tourism and Hospitality as a career change late in life and have almost no savings as it is a big joke industry that promotes charisma and charm only and pays the rank and file a survival wage. Trudeau is the biggest joke of a leader this country has ever had but the Left-Liberal lobby in this country which is centered mostly in the cities of Toronto, Montreal, Winnipeg and Vancouver adore him, and the provincial and municipal level of governments are not much better no matter what political party they are, they are only there for the power, status and ego they get or the money they receive from their corporate allies. Every day in this stupid country all the news-media does is feature some stupid prominent story about someone's rights after having a sex change operation or the rights of gay people superseding everyone else, all the work of "Trudeau-progressive-culture".

I left Canada 4 years ago and haven’t regretted it even once. Cost of living is ridiculous. The plethora of laws being passed that limit your freedoms is overbearing and the taxes are suffocating. Not to mention all the “middle men” dipping their hands into your pockets, literally every time you do anything, from getting “certifications” to work at a job, do anything to build or modify a house and even simply owning a pet.

You hit the nail on the head. As a born and raised Canadian, this is no longer the Canada I grew up in. Health Care is gone. Taxes are completely wasted and who knows where it goes. They do not care at all about the actual citizens who live here. If they slowed down immigration drastically it would actually benefit the people who are already here by forcing prices to come down as the supply and demand for housing would die down but instead they are creating a crisis by just flooding the immigration. I work in construction and the truth of that industry is that there is not enough people in it to even keep up with the current amount of construction going on. So when politicians speak of increasing the amount of construction it is a big joke because we're currently falling further behind the current construction on a daily basis. Even if they issued 15% more permits or whatever they speak on, who will actually build all that? It's not like they have a strategy to say lets slow down immigration, maybe bring in the actual people we need to be able to build the infrastructure first, and then maybe bring in some more people, you know that makes too much sense. Like you said, the politicians care about their own interests, they are influenced by a bigger agenda which serves them and not the current Canadians and especially not anyone trying to immigrate. If you were here before and already own something you're the tail end of the people that had the original Canadian life, what is available now is a scam. Canada as you may imagine it is no more. You can't own, no life balance, all people are worried about is paying bills, surviving. Might as well do it where you already are, this place is going downhill fast!

" If they slowed down immigration drastically ... by forcing prices to come down" What fantasy world do you live in? Of all the housing bubbles that burst in the past 30 years of every major city in Canada, the rising prices just resumed their positions 6 months later. Guess what? Immigration is a problem in all G7 countries. Is there any wonder why? They're the best countries to live in. Look at the problems in GB, France, Italy. Birth rates are plummeting. If governments wait till the last minute to bring in immigrants, they'll look like complete idiots for not doing something earlier, when they had time to train them. If you really work in construction, you'd know, there are over 60,000 skilled trades positions open right now. 6 figure salaried jobs, and no one is applying for them. College aged students would rather concentrate on tech jobs rather than construction. I guess eating microwaved snacks and playing video games is a greater career path for the lumpen.

We were not affluent enough to even think about a post secondary education, however, through hard work and determination, much of my generation became middle class and we've enjoy the fruits of our labor. When I see what's happening to this country today it saddens me. I have been living in Canada for more than a decade, and despite the ups and downs, I can confidently say that Canada is a great country. However, in the last four years, especially during the pandemic, Canada has undergone significant changes, but unfortunately, they have been for the worse. I moved to Montreal 12 years ago as a non-qualified immigrant. In my home country, I was a small entrepreneur. When I arrived in Canada, I took on various jobs until I landed a good position in a reputable company that provided paid training and better pay. This allowed me to enter the middle class with an annual income of $70,000, while my wife earns $60,000 per year. We supposedly make slightly more than the average income of the middle class. However, the cost of living in Canada is exorbitantly high, and prices continue to rise. As a result, we have less money available for savings, fewer opportunities for family projects, and limited travel possibilities. We find ourselves working overtime just to cover our expenses. At this point, in one or two years, we will be in debt, which makes me question why I am still here. Canada is currently facing economic challenges, and its government appears to be out of touch with the needs of its people, focusing more on international agendas. According to our friend Klaus Schwab, they claim that Trudeau's ministerial cabinet is influenced by them by at least 60%. Therefore, it is clear that this government does not prioritize the well-being of its citizens.

Similar situation here, also don’t forget the insane taxes. - “But free health care” doesn’t count, that crap makes you wait 10+hrs bleeding with a broken head before someone comes to see you. Them hoping you had died already. - Example: $150K in Texas, you bring home $120K. Each of those dollars used incur at most 8.25% sales taxes. In Montréal you keep barely 90K and every dollar of that surviving chunk will incur 15%. Plus bunch of stuff you own is taxes (don’t pay your car matriculation and see who really owns your car). You can get too impossibly good health care in the US if you dumped $30K a year too, $5K I hear is golden already, keep the other $25K. - tax the rich is a lie: can’t even get tax credit from the monthly metro pass, Trudeau took it out. I guess that will show them rich punks in buses and subways! (/s). What I have come to realize and made me sleep at night: now I just rent a room ($500), eat cheaply and healthy, almost never go out for drinks or fancy events (once every couple of months), no kids no wife, no mortgage (buying a home feeds that monster: moves the economy, enriched the bank thieves, contributes to the construction nonsense of Montréal, etc)

All the points that you have brought up in this video are very true and I’m sorry as a Canadian that my country is merely misleading so many people The fact is that as an immigrant coming to this country, the way things are going here your chances of ever owning at home with the salaries of regular workers is almost impossible And this is coming from a Canadian, who was born here and has lived his whole life here Thank God my parents left me their house otherwise I too would be living in the nightmare of renting. Canada was a great place to come and start a new life 30 years ago but not today and I believe it was like you said even if the conservatives take over, I’m not sure much will change, although I too will be voting for conservatives Because with liberals in power, things are just getting worse by the day And so yeah, so I may see that you are just a complaining immigrant, but I think you’re just telling it as it is, it’s the truth thanks for making this video. The property tax on a house there is 200$/year, food at least 20% cheaper, high speed internet and TV cable 30$/month .Gas is more expensive but the European Cities are way smaller and you could basically either use the public transportation(cheap and reliable) or walk everywhere. @@mth469 such as: - Our hotel refused to take debit cards after arrival, I only had a debit card on me, I had everything booked and paid for, but they wanted some security deposit done in person. We couldnt enter our hotel just because they wanted us to pay that tiny fee in a certain way, they even refused cash, if it was not for the manager which used his brains to adjust to the situation, things wouldnt have went bad. Employees were like robots following a script. - The house rent agents that helped us find a places to lease misinformed us and fair to say lied. I asked them of the penalty for stopping the year contract before signing anything, they gave me an answer that satisfied me. After reading the contract, the penalty was completely different and needed a lawyer to decipher the hidden meaning of the ugly penalty cost that we were not told about. - bank employees do things to your account without having the client's consent. I called them to ask "If i canceled my current card how long would it take for the new card to arrive?" they went in an cancelled it and said the new card is on its way. My current card go automatically blocked, I was unable to use it until 7 days pass for the new one to come. I asked her why did you take action without informing me, she said oh I am so sorry, is there anything else I can help you with... - Finding work is hard, we all go through this. But companies tend to have a bipolar character, its that they want you to work for them but they do not want to hire you yet. They'll end up wasting your time for something they are not sure about. Its better to just decline, people cant afford to work for free in a high-cost city for the company to make up its mind, unless you got savings OR the company is famous like Microsoft or something worth grinding for. - The place is filled with mentally ill people and poor homeless guys unable to get a descent shelter. When you go to downtown, you will be greeted with this truth. Downtown should feel attractive, not repelled by when visiting. I started to have trust issues here and I just dont feel any love for it as I thought id have. Some of my friends like it, others dont, it really depends. They no longer exist. The medical system in Ontario for example (at least in major cities) has degraded so much. The healthcare professionals really don’t care about their patients and I’ve noticed that many are just not that bright like the ones from 20 years ago. To see a specialist, forget it. You want to get proper health care, that reality is disappearing and it’s very possible your health will just degrade, despite us Canadians paying some of the highest income taxes in the world!

When I was 16, I encountered a life-threading accident during ice skating in a North York Indoor ice skating arena, my wrist was cut by a skate blade, just imagine the wound was like someone suicide not by a cutter by a sword and the my blood instantly turned the rink surface from white into red. An ambulance arrived and sent me to the hospital emergency room. When I reached the hospital a nurse checked my wound , fortunately the blade didn’t reach my aorta. Then I used another hand grappling my bleeding wrist for SIX HOURS waiting, without seeing any patient, nurse and doctor there. SIX HOURS later, I finally gotta meet a doctor, his stitching skill was horrendous and disastrous, and it was just the beginning of nightmare.

After spending over 25 years working in Canada, I find myself still renting a small apartment in Toronto. Unfortunately, the government's response to the pandemic involved confining people to their homes for two years. However, as soon as restrictions eased, they implemented increased taxes on gas, energy, and various other commodities. It appears that the current administration does not prioritize the well-being and livelihoods of its citizens. Given the exorbitant cost of living, especially when it comes to housing and travel expenses, I feel trapped in my tiny living space, akin to a jail cell. These circumstances have led me to contemplate leaving the country altogether.

Agreed. I think the Canadian government is just having a really discriminating perspective on immigrants: They expected well educated PhD immigrants to do blue collar jobs, basically. They only let people with very high education points to immigrate to Canada, but kept on promising the pre-existing Canadian public these PhD immigrants would fill in the job market of blue collar work such as construction worker for the Canadian government's agenda of building more houses or oil natural gas rigs. I am sorry, but that only means these intelligent PhD immigrants would move to some other countries. That is what happens with intelligent people, we have legs and had no problem with surviving in another country and do not mind moving from Canada to other countries. The fact that we were immigrants does not mean we were stupid.

Well, I don't know if you own a house or if you are renting, but six years ago, I purchased a house in the northeastern suburbs of Montreal. We obtained a $215,000 mortgage. Since the pandemic began, I have received many offers for this small house. The most recent one was almost double the price I paid just six years ago, at $400,000. I have spoken with many people about renting in different areas of Montreal. It seems that if you stay in the same place, the rent increases by 5% each year. However, the problem arises when you need a larger place or you need to move to another place and have to enter into a new rental agreement. While it is true that living in Montreal is still cheaper than in other provinces about housing and rent (because food is exactly the same), we do pay higher taxes and have lower salaries. So, in the end, it is the same.

If an immigrant immigrates to another country then life will be hard, no matter which country you choose. Starting from scratch while everyone in that country starts with large inherited wealth can be discouraging. If you choose to live in the most posh city, like Vancouver and Toronto, then you will have to pay more. Less posh cities have jobs as well but much lower expenses. I believe much of the anger is self-inflicted and not the result of government policies.

The Trucker protests revealed how far this regime will go to put down any protests or movements. Home ownership is out of reach for more and more people everyday. The only thing that ever granted Canada the illusion of being a real prosperous democracy was its culture -- nothing about its government structure prevents it from devolving into a single party dictatorship.

In 2004 I wrote a somewhat famous article called 'Top 8 reasons not to immigrate to Canada'. In short, the Canadian authorities tried to destroy my life. They made it so that I could not be employable in Canada. So I moved to the U.S. in 2005 and then some years later I moved permanently to the Philippines. I am happy that so many years later videos like yours are saying essentially the same things that I did. I was ahead of my time. I will never go back to Canada. Not to live, not to visit, not even a connecting flight. Too cold, too expensive, taxes are astronomical, no freedom, no jobs, no opportunities, xenophobic people, too depressing. It has become the North Korea of the western world. Their are many reasons why Canada has fallen apart. But the number one reason is ‘multiculturalism’. My friends, multiculturalism simply does not work. Different cultures do not come together and mix, different cultures come together and clash. The world is divided into different countries for a reason: because people hate each other and only want to be with their own kind. The number two reason for Canada’s demise is ‘socialism’. In this modern era of aging populations, it is mathematically impossible for socialism to continue. The government does not have the money to take care of old people and provide healthcare, pensions and the various other benefits, even with the astronomical taxation that burdens hard working Canucks. Well Canada, you had a good run. Time for Canucks to move to an emerging country. We welcome you here in Southeast Asia.

I painfully found a job where a staff told me in front of her Manager and in front of 20 other staff " In this country there are more and more arabic people more than Canadian". I am French BTW. I left Canada after this experience. Thanks Canada "Tolerance and Diversity".

Sadly, this video is completely accurate. Canadians also have the most debt out of all G7 countries. Life in Canada keeps getting worse and people here can't seem to understand it so they go into debt to maintain the lifestyle they had. When they are no longer able to borrow they become desperate and we see a rise in crime and mental health issues.

Canadian debt adds more Canadian dollars into the system so we eventually see a spike in inflation. If you have things like stocks, it's all good tho since profits go up with inflation. Meanwhile the debt ridden Canadian now has a huge financial burden, can't borrow even a bicycle and his/her cost of living goes up.

You are spot on. As a returning Canadian after living abroad for 30 years, I am completely dismayed. We are seriously considering leaving again. Our son has already left and our other kids will never afford a house. We cannot get any health care. We were way better off in the developing country we lived in before returning to retire here. Our only hope is a change of government but even then…..
@shrybouski
@shrybouski Жыл бұрын
As a serious question... How will changing the government help? Harper's government almost immediately created 0-down 40-year mortgages and then got those interest rates to 0% following the 2008 crash. The damage is done. Check Vancouver real estate prices in 2005 vs. 2016. The housing mess was created by Canadians' worship of home ownership, seeing a house as an investment (not a place to live), and by more than a decade of near-zero interest rates. There isn't a solution to this without pissing off tons of people who bought homes two-three decades ago and now sit on unearned wealth. More recent buyers will end up, bankrupt and underwater if you crash the housing market to make it affordable. People in Trudeau's government know all this, which is why they won't do anything about the housing market. The problem with Canada's economy is that the country does not want to invest in innovation (especially its private sector) because it's riskier than making money in real estate or selling natural resources. Academic labs are underfunded, and Canada has a brain drain of PhD-level scientists to the US for this reason. From companies' point of view, why would they establish R&D headquarters in some Canadian city when the top talent comes from MIT/Harvard/Stanford, etc... That's the conundrum, and there aren't any short-term fixes. Canada is a risk-averse society. Changing this is next to impossible.

This is what you get for buyi into the "democracy" propaganda. Democracy in theory is great, but in reality, the politicians are just looking after themselves first and foremost. They don't care what happens in the next 10 or 20 years. They just care about giving themselves big paychecks and will do what it takes to get themselves re-elected in the next election, and that includes taking bribes in the form of lobbying and overspend public money to make themselves look good.

Prime example of official corruption - of ansolute fascism madquerading as being "Liberal" "left" "socialist": For at least thirty years now, TEACHERS and achool nurses have been drug pushers - blindly following "ministry of Educatin" guidelines, whereby students who are excitable, or "active" or who have some supposed attention deficit disorder, are, @ their teachers', school social workers' and school nurses' maneouvres, required to take ritalin, which has major, mind-numbing effects, and whose long-term damage has never been revealed, if, indeed, it is known to its big-pharma manufacturers. Hos is this corrupt, you ask? Corrupt because the teacher pushing the drug, the nurse and social worker imposing it, has his pension fund invested with the pharmaceutical Company making it. Ditto the bureaucrat in the ministry who put the policy forward and the robots who simply follow suit. VERY "LIBERAL" "LEFT"? NO the ultimate fusion of state and corporate power!!!!

I agree with you. You are fortunate to find a job as a software engineer. You exposed the true facts of Canada so others won't be deceived. I am a visible minority immigrant, a young professional with higher education, but I have a hard time to apply for an inspector. It is almost impossible to get job offers. I have been working in the field for less than 5 years. The competition for jobs nowadays is insanely intense and competitive. I have to apply for positions across Canada to the most remote places that people may not hear of but to no avail. I realized that you must have the right connections and wealth of experience to get a job here. I just wasted all my time and energy pursuing degrees and certificates in recognized universities with no comparable return. Due to the competitive job market, I have to work as a food delivery courier with credentials. However, the order volume is not as much than during COVID and it is very hard to get open shifts or more shifts even as a courier. I am dreaming if I can own a house in the future. If I will be working as a courier for the rest of my life with enough education, why do I move to Canada?
