My sister was stalked by a guy at work, hid in her bushes and one night she came home and he was able to get into her back yard. She called me saying she could hear someone, my husband went to go check on her and when opening the back door he was standing at the sliding door. He was fired but that was extremely scary for her. Was a very bad time! She lived alone so I was always scared something would happen.

Mental health problems don't cause stalking. Stalkers know exactly what they are doing. This woman is so brave.

Mental health problems definitely do cause stalking, but every situation is different. Some stalkers have more awareness of their actions than others. Some mental health issues cause distortions in perception which may help a stalker to justify their actions or believe that their actions are appropriate.

Isla your amazing for speaking out about this , i stay in West Lothian and have also been a victim of this with a neighbor who I met at a party back in 2007 he was obsessed with me I unknowingly moved across the road from him and it became a living nightmare, I’m now safe thankfully, keep moving forward these people will have there karma x

Happened to me exactly same, new house in rural area and neighbour start stalking me and ex. stand outside my window 22.00 knocking even on window and try get into house. The neighbour had taken post from my postbox that I seen was in my postbox but I had left it and the neighbour had taken it and used it to come to my house seek contact 22.00. And etc etc. Still a unsolved problem and I think I have no other option than move.
