Ford had the same size brake pedal for auto or manual transmissions. Later in the vid, you see the clutch stuck to the floor.
@lewisriverkid9929 Жыл бұрын
@@lawrenceedwards6327 not sure where you get that information from, fords did not have the same size brake pedal, at least when it came to bullnose trucks (80-86) if it was a manual it always had a skinny pedal, if it was an auto it always has the wide pedal, this truck was clearly swapped from a manual to an auto and they just left the old pedal bracket on.
@grks96 Жыл бұрын
That’s a manual brake pedal. I’d bet it used to be a 300/6 4 speed and was swapped to a 351w using the 6 cyl mounts. Pretty neat truck, definitely tells a story!

This Ford had to have been a power house in its day as the Ford 351 was a tough motor . The 351 W was made in Canada and the 351 Cleveland was made in the USA and the difference supposedly is the Cleveland block was built a little bigger for racing. The Canadians may argue this but it is a fact.Anyway both motors were excellent and popular. Us Ford fans love them like you Chevy guys like your LS 350s!! Great video !!! Thanks

I had a 78 f-150 plow truck with the 351m. That engine ran like a top, sadly rust took it over to the point I couldnt even plow the yard with it. Miss that old truck. Last few years I used reverse for brakes too and the trans wouldn’t die either. 😂

The windsor revved higher, better suited for street and strip. The clevo redlined at 4500 and pulled like a freight train had better torque at lower revs for F Trucks and Falcons. Had both variants in Australia and know the engines well

Hey Chad. I was the 30th view on this video and felt pretty lucky about that. After that excellent demonstration of a Tennessee baseball cut and the reveal of the old girl I recognized that model as the company truck I used to get picked up in when I worked summers in an ochre mine in Cartersville Georgia in the early 80s. It was a terrible shade of orange and was known as "punk in" around the yard. It was a six with a collum shifter. I was half way through watching you fight that cranky crank when I thought "there ain't no way." Son you have both patience and pierce to veerence, or else you're harder headed than anybody I ever met! I was fixing to fall asleep cause we did concrete all day so I had to pick it up this morning when I was getting me a coffee and a smoke. Absolutely incredible that you got it running on ever how many cylinders. That you managed to drive the old Bullhead outa them weeds and around the farm? Awesome! But sir, my dirty old ball cap is off to you for takin that poor old Bullwhip down the rural route to take it home! You my friend are an American of the original style and have turnips about the size of rutabagas. Thanks for a great upload that had my jaw on the floor half the time and a grin all the rest. Honestly it doesn’t look like a very well done swap having the motor lopsided like that.
