Really an excellent build, that will allow for flexibility between engines. Classic appearance by Miss Daisy qualifies this video as a "two thumbs up" production!

Good job. A universal starting stand. You could probably sell some plans for that. Do you think you had a big enough grinder? I would think a normal 4 or 5" would have done the job. You are right on the china freight blades. Have you thought of putting some bloopers at the end of your video like others do? Keep up the good videos, love them all. Nice to see miss Daisy again.

On your plate where the bell housing bolts are. You could flip it over and put ford bolt pattern, then you'd have both patterns on one plate. Just a thought. Love your videos and always waiting on the next one. Thanks for the informative and entertaing videos.

Don't get the cutting wheels for that saw. Get yourself a metal cutting saw blade for that saw. It be spinning a bit faster then a saw actually made for that blade but it will work. Lots of people have swapped them but you will thank yourself you did it. Plus no more sparks or work harding and 100 times faster when cutting.

Another great video . I’m concerned about your motor mount verticals . Somehow I feel that they are too high and would have been better at an angle lowering the center of gravity . Adjustability and vibration and torque don’t play well together ( you put gussets on the radiator support ) . You may have to put quick pins in it to account for vibration . The higher the motor is the more stress you put on your welds . A triangle is the strongest and most stable structure . Don’t get hurt , we’ll miss your videos .

So I'm watching a video about the 30 cylinder Sherman Tank engine made by Chrysler. The video is Visioracer " the super complicated 30 cylinder....." on the first shot of the straight 6 cyl. As reference is Your Video at 2 mins, pulling the generator out of the tree row, your garage basement, I thought I'd see Mrs Daisy come running up but didnt.... check it out.

LoL yeah, don't buy shop consumables at harbor freight. They last half as long as a big box store brand. I like the grizzly bi-metal bandsaw blades. They're a bit spendy, but they last. The one I've got on now has been going strong for six months. As a side note, I think the expensive harbor freight tools are pretty good. I've had no trouble with them. It's the cheaper stuff that's a gamble. LoL I bought twelve ton press and it looked like an A frame instead of an H frame after being assembled. What should have taken twenty minutes took five hours. Shims, spacers, and welding galore. You gotta give it to China, I got my money's worth in entertainment/irritation alone.
@morgansword
@morgansword Жыл бұрын
After watching the blooper video, my head keeps hearing you take some fits a laughing. Any old project like this has this thing called..... "IF" and the other one is "SHOULD AH DONE" so its a great start stand. This project could be as cheap as just crap ya had to going to the metal candy shop and spending say.. ten grand to do just what ya did now. Does it work, remains to be seen. It should if any of your luck holds out. I am quite certain that welding failure is not in this picture. What I do see tho is a hand throttle mounted on your stand somewhere so adjusting a carb or doing some dang unforeseen thing that will make sense when and how it does appear to happen as your so well now known to find, do, make its appearance. I was kind of hoping that you would put a volt gauge on it as well cause ya can and it just may make sense down the road. Ya, you know things do happen in your shop that has probably never happened in any shop before., Why, just cause its your kind of luck. I am only giving ya a thumb and a half cause part of my own thumb is missing. (fire cracker when I was a kid) so consider I gave it all I could.

I don't wanna point out obvious kinda thangs BUT, you forgot the throttle. Something to actuate the carb will be a huge help when a motor is cold. FE's,Windsor's and 385's all have different motor mounting. The LA Dodge blocks, versus the new style magnum, are also different. Your 318,when you pull it, will show you the typical mounting. A Chrysler big block is another one you'll have to make a set for. The back plate, I'd build for maker too. The Gm bolt pattern's are pretty much the same.
@ThisNThatGarage
@ThisNThatGarage Жыл бұрын
I don't see any need in that. All I've got to do is reach up at the carb and hit the throttle. I believe I stated I would have to make different mounts for different motors.

In my heart of hearts, in all of life and all that I myself do love, I truly 100% from the bottom of my heart truly do believe that the 2 absolutely most gratifying things in the world at large are 1- cutting the grass. The whole nine yards, trimming, edging, weeding, blowing.. all of it, weekly during the summer. That's just the absolute 2nd best rewarding chore in the world. I LOVE doing the lawn. Still cut the parent's and the in-law's lawns EVERY week (and I'm 44).. 2- Fabricating something from scratch. No BETTER feeling than a freshly fabricated something. Anything.. Steel, wood, tile work, 3d printed.. anything. Cutting the grass and fabricating both take me to the same mindset of nirvana. I love LOVE it!! Great video my friend, thank you for this one!!
