Dimash was trained in dramatic performance arts in Opera and also in Musical Theatre, so, yes, he can do Epic! This performance was the first where Igor Krutoy had written a piece especially for 'The Voice of Dimash'. (After all, who else on the planet could sing it!?) In fact, he was quite nervous before going on stage. As you can see, the venue and audience was huge for this; the 2019 Opening Ceremony of the European Games,and of course many hundreds of millions more watching on TV / On-line from every home country. So this meant a great opportunity for much bigger audience exposure for Dimash, now into Western Europe. The songs lyrics are all about urging the athletes to go forth and do their best. # Even MORE impressive is how he soldiered on despite his inner ear monitors not working, for much of the piece. You'll notice he repeatedly touches them, trying to signal to the sound engineers that he was 'getting nothing'!, whilst trying to make those movements look like part of the performance. The relaxation of strain on his face as he steps forward after the end note tells the whole story, of just how focussed he had to be to get through this as professionally as he did. Good thing he has perfect pitch and timing isn't it!?!

However, you’re referring to three separate events: the premiere of this song took place at the opening ceremony of the European Games in Minsk, Belarus (where he wore the turquoise jacket embroidered with his country’s emblem). The other event (when he sang Olímpico at a closing ceremony in the same costume as in this video) was for the WorldSkills competition in Kazan, Russia (you could see some of the seats had been vacated because there was a rainstorm just before - it was before the pandemic, in 2019). All wonderful renditions of an inspiring song!

Great reaction. Remember that Dimash is a Classically trained Opera Singer. He does not just hit the notes. He "acts" the song out. Those "looks" and his whole performance is a package. I think it’s time for you to experience Dimash being restrained. It’s as impressive as these ‘big’ numbers. There are two songs I recommend: ‘Samaltau’, particularly the performance for the 2020 Tokyo Jazz Festival. It’s just him in his home studio with two instrumentalists, one of whom is Olzhas Qurmanbek, the master Kobyz player who you saw on Stranger. It’s a haunting traditional Kazakh song written about 100 years ago. The other is Ikanaide from the Tokyo Jazz Festival in the following year, sung in Japanese. Again it’s him in a studio, so you feel as if you’re there in the room. Spine tingling. Both are on his channel.

Personally, visual effects in music videos are not generally my cup of tea… and I work in that industry (the company that I worked for until I semi-retired a couple of years ago makes the software that has been used by pretty much every Visual Effects Oscar winner for the past decade and a half).

Igor Krutoy came out of retirement to write songs for Dimash. Who will be 29 years old in May. This song was originally written for the European Games in 2019. Dimash perform it there and unfortunately COVID hit! This was performed in Kazakhstan. This was his first solo concert in his homeland! It was amazing!

There has never been a musician and meistersinger to rival this young man and yes, he composes too and some of his songs are equally as fine as those of Igor Krutoy. Dimash is the reason that Igor came out of retirement and both are perfectionists but love working together, as there are no ego problems in their working relationship, just mutual respect and fondness. Your reactions to Dimash are refreshingly candid and reveal a love for fine music. Thank you for your excellent reviews of the new wave in Music for this century.

his every concert is an amazing show. watch his last concert in Almaty, a huge show, presented on his channel in KZbin, in three parts, at the beginning of the show he descends and sings from a height. Dimash's first appearance on stage was bright and spectacular - he began the concert by descending from the roof of a concert building high with a multi-storey building. On stage, Dimash not only sang, but also masterly played various musical instruments, from drum and guitar to piano, dombra and other Kazakh musical instruments.. Has anyone mentioned to you that for many weeks DQ has been in LA where he'd been given a year's worth of scholarship in "Direction" at the NY Academy of Film but it's reported after meeting some young wonderful musicians and meeting up with old friends to work on an incomplete joint project, he decided to give his scholarship up to a student who without the financial help would never be able to attend. THIS is DQ's endearing character for which we Dears, his fans love him in the extreme! While I love every rendition of every song DQ sings, there are some that reveal certain aspects of his virtuosity that are unique to The Dimash Experience. If you are ever able to get concert tickets to see DQ LIVE no matter how expensive the flight may be, grant yourself this one act of self-love and go. I have never had enough cash for airfare because his tickets are more than reasonable given the experience you are given but it's my hope DQ will give a concert in either the US or Latin America where he has an ever growing Spanish speaking fan base of Dears. If you want to be immersed in DQ's artistry then react to first The Story of One Sky and then its LIVE version. DQ has asked us to spread the MV far and wide without threat of copyright strike but when you do, remember to put the message before the voice singing it, narrating the Story of One Sky. (PS: I state openly here & now, so there is no misunderstanding between myself and any of my fellow Dears, whilst true DQ worked on the composition for approximately 3 years, the project was thrown into high gear with Russia's invasion of Ukraine). Dimash should be a household name by now & I can't help feel we, his Dears, could & should do a lot more to help him.

Actually, his concerts are generally more than 3 and a half hours long, he LOOOVES the stage, the crowd, and leaves EVERYTHING out on the stage ... he would stay on all night if his musicians and dancers weren't worn out, haha! One thing I remember most after him going through the contest, I AM SINGER, his dad ask him if he was sure he was ready to do this? Meaning was he ready to expand on his own. He said YES! His dad said ok, like he was behind him all the way, and still is today. Igor wrote this opera for Dimash and composed the music too. Enjoy your reaction, spot on.

I'm a huge progrock fan (Tool, Dream Theater, Rush, etc...), and this venue (and many others like this) should actually not be my cup of tea. But I can't stop watching it. Dimash is marvelous. Hi. Dimash is 29 class 1994. I suggest you hear his song "Your love". It has a beautiful melody and it's in English. The song broke me into tears also for the words. Of all the songs that I heard, Your Love is my favorite. Actually, I'm obsessed. Dimash is just incredible.

Igor was retired and heard Dimash sing Sinful Passion. It was said that he retired because there was no one who could sing the music he wanted to compose, until then. He approached Dimash and his dad and asked if he could write music for Dimash. He also collaborated with Lara Fabian and composed the music, and she the words for "Your Love." I'm fairly certain that suggestions will be made for you to listen to "Unforgettable Day" GAKKU concert because he hits a D8, however, his performance of it on the program "The Singer 2017 was so much better. The orchestration and the background singers only enhanced his skills even more, and by no means should you miss "All By Myself", and "The Show Must Go On" from that same show. He was only 22yrs. old at that time and the youngest performer in the history of the show. The others were 12-39 yrs. his senior and all were professional singers with established careers. He composed this song, his first in Spanish, especially for his Spanish speaking Dears; he premiered it at his Almaty concert last year in front of 30,000+ countrymen and fans from around the world.
