I scrolled through comments and didn’t see anyone comment on this..if I missed it my apologies. The English translation that you read on Doolcet is for the original Korean version of the song which you heard playing during dance practice. The Steve Aoki version was rewritten to utilize more English lyrics slightly changing the meaning in places. Until I read the lyrics I didn’t even realize how much was in English since they sing it so fast. Doolcet is still the best for English translation of songs due to background and context explanations. If you go back to Doolcet you will see the lyrics for both versions one after the other. Thanks for your videos. I’m in my 60’s and went on a solo journey discovering BTS in 2018. Still have no friends or family who understand much less have joined me. Hoping to scooch onto the big comfy couch with you all.

Roscoe or should I call you "Joe" 😉. I stayed till the very end, but I don't think I know the answer to your question. I know some of the lyric videos have korean lyrics, phonetic sounding lyrics, I guess, and then the english translations. But I may be mistaken. I am new to all of this like you. I may have a couple more months in but still very new compared to everyone else. I found BTS through my son, who's Autistic. He was watching a KZbin video, and an ad came through. It was BTS Butter. He came to me right away and said, "Mom, what's this song?" I was like "I have no idea." So he asked me to find it. He kept singing the frase "smooth like butter.." He seemed to really like the tune. When I started searching the web I found their KZbin video "Butter" and the rest is history. 💜

Fun Fact I found out from Twitter last night: in live performances when Suga drops that infamous mic that loud THUNK you hear is not actually coming from that mic. It’s actually a prop. The actual sound is actually coming from JIN’S STILL LIVE MIC. His actor training + sharing the same wavelength as his perpetual roommate has him knowing the exact cue that Yoongi drops that mic and it hits the stage floor. There’s multiple footage of him doing this even one where he looks back for a split second then keeps walking as he’s hitting his mic with his hand surreptitiously.

I just saw this comment elsewhere, thought it was cool so I'd share with you. I'll just copy and paste: Big Hit staff's official idiom for "doing great" is "호비있다" ("There's hobi in you" / "You've got hobi"). If one has been given these words, that means he is doing great even if there are no directions. Because J-hope has a reputation of doing everything so well without directions, so the staff made it into a phrase ("There's Hobi in you") when someone is doing great without any instructions.

I'm sure other people have mentioned it, but since I watched till the end, I'll answer your question! There are things called "lyric videos" which will show the Korean, the Romanized Korean, and the English lyrics altogether. There a ton of them out there and some are better than others (some of the really big ones just hurry to get their vids out, so they can be highly inaccurate, and they're just trying to get views, of course, so they don't care! :). I still rely on Doolset Bangtan for lyric translation, but to learn the pronunciation of the Korean, it can be very helpful to follow a lyric video with the Romanization. Also I'm sure people have told you, learning Hangul (Korean alphabet) is actually quite easy, and once you know it, you can sound out words. But that does take awhile to get comfortable with, and you already have so much on your plate! It's really fun, though. Anyway, thanks for the vid, Roscoe! Borahae!

Mic Drop is another one of the songs that finally pulled me into the BTS rabbit hole and as a result it's close to my heart. The song was inspired by former President Obama when he did his mic drop upon leaving office and it's neat to see how they can add bits of real worldness to their music. Another example would be using parts of a Martin Luther King, JR. speech in Not Today. The boys have also stopped rapping and singing during performances to prove that they're not lip syncing since it's something they're accused of ALL the time. Suga has an iconic moment when he did it during an award show that should be on your must watch list because it's an amazing stage to experience. Another random tidbit of information but Steve really went above and beyond just saying thank you to ARMY for streaming the MV to a billion views. He posted on Twitter, KZbin and I think Instagram expressing how humbled he was to be a part of their story and sharing the love he has gotten because of it. Now we joke that he's Uncle Steve to BTS and has worked with them on two other songs. The Truth Untold which is a beautiful yet heartbreaking ballad with the vocal line and his song Waste It on Me which has JK and Joonie singing in English. Can't wait to see what you discover next!

Roscoe the phonetic spelling of Korean is called Romanization, you usually see them in colour coded lyric videos, but theres a pro and con with that because their english translations might be wrong but the korean are usually accurate to the song based on my personal experience As a Korean learner i steer clear of romanization but just for song lyrics its fine💜💜💜

For example, in "Jeon Jungkook" the first two letters in Korean are exactly the same, but the romanization is "Jeo" and "Ju". Do you know why? Does it fit the pronunciation better in English? To me it sounds like the same vowel when Koreans say it, but maybe I'm the problem 😅

These guys work so hard on their choreography and to be in sync with each other. Their main choreographer has created such memorable dances, he is amazing as well. You should check out “no more dream” performance practice as the choreography will blow you away. Fun fact too, one of the members had to sit out due to sickness/injury, so their choreographer steps in to fill the spot. He’s the one in the fedora, but his skill is just as good as the boys. The dance moves are on point!

Mirrored Dance practice (while unofficial uploads) are actually used by people who are learning the choreography. So they can learn the moves easier. Like if they need to move to the right, the mirrored version will show it correctly for them.
