Dear ramsey barber, Thanks for the kind comment. I was wondering about the boiler. I know that the explosion was absolutely enormous and I don't know if the loco was shipped as a set of frames with the boiler separate. I say this as I read somewhere that each loco when shipped was in twenty five "packs". The explosion when it happened though, was certainly strong enough to cut through the frames just behind the leading axle so it would have been powerful enough to splatter a light fabrication like a boiler across the middle east. If anyone out there can add any more info about the shipping of these locos we will appreciate an explanation. I have just noticed myself that there is a shot in passing of an axle with busted wheel and axle box sitting on the sea bed . That takes some force! As for salvage work, apparently, Mr Cousteau when he "found" the vessel liberated all the coal. Thanks for the interesting comment. Very best wishes to you and your channel. WooWooMad.

These 8f Locomotives in 1941/1942 were destined for Turkey and on route to the port of Iskenderun. They were shipped as a kit of parts and were transported in this way as there was no cranes available that were strong enough,at the time to unload these locomotives in the port of iskenderun back in 1942. The kits were then off loaded and transported via rail to Sivas where the Turkish Railway works are situated. Mr. R.G.Jarvis from the London Midland and Scottish Railway was sent for on site support for the assembly of the loco’s in Sivas. Turkish Railway personnel had nicknamed these machines “Churchills”. They worked in Turkey until the mid 1980’s. 3 have been repatriated back to the U.K. TCDD numbers 45160 (1989) and TCDD 45166 and 45170. No 45166 has been shipped from the U.K. to Isreal. TCDd45160 is awaiting overhaul at the Gloucestershire and Warwickshire Railway TCDD 45170 is at Bo’ness Railway currently under overhaul. Best Regards and thanks for the video.

Dear Firelight6281 Yes they will ! although there are a few still running occasionally. I see from your channel that the 8F features in some of your videos. The one that is photographed in my video is from the Severn Valley Railway. If you look carefully at the tenders under water they still look brand new really even though covered in all that deep sea wildlife. Thanks for viewing and best wishes to you and your channel.
