I met Thom very briefly at JFK on my way to LA. Didn't know much about him, but I recognized him from a GQ article a few years ago, and his distinct style always stuck with me for some reason. It was really cool to cross paths with him so randomly. I was standing right behind him in line for security, recognized him by his signature suit-shorts, and asked "Are you Thom Browne?" He just looked at me with an expression that was about as grey as his palette, and dryly said "Yes." We didn't say anything else to each other until we were both packing our things away after security, and this time he cracked a quick smile as he was walking away with his travel partner, and I was stuffing my Macbook back into my overstuffed duffel bag, and he just said "Have a good flight." Coolest guy ever. Haha.

Mr. Browne is a very unique designer, his collections always leave me in a state of intrigingness, ....after watching one of his show, I will always think to myself, what other designs would he come up next? his show is like a big fantasy world, ......sometimes I often wonder what's the idea behind the show, what's theme this year? it was really fun to watch it

I work at Thom Browne’s boutique in Hamad Airport in Qatar. Lemme tell u; although the suits they give us are extremely expensive and luxurious; we don’t really enjoy them because of how hot they feel especially in a weather like the one in Qatar. But the staff treatment is better than the other brands present at the airport. It’s like we have a special treatment of our own

I'm kinda wondering how many in the comments down here would ACTUALLY wear his stuff if his designs were not how they are, which are essentially multiple levels and ranges of reimagining of the grey suit, from casual to intricate. That said, I kinda like what seems to be his all-encompassing mindspace that somehow birthed his style... this dilemma between the insistence on tradition and the need for said tradition to be constantly poked from just about any direction with variation and creativity. There's an "I wanna feel special, but not be loud or attention-grabbing" kind of vibe to his designs that makes it for me, like grey embellishments and visuals on a grey garment - the art and expression is still there, but it doesn't feel the need to be a megaphone about it. I think that kind of comfort of being expressive but not being too trying hard with it sounds like a real prevailing mood to most people, especially those who are not necessarily fashion people but have a clear intention of wanting to look good on their own terms. So again, I'm kinda wondering how many in the comments down here would ACTUALLY wear his stuff if his designs were not how they are

+Um Hu It was for service people, like waiters and bus boys. Personally, I find it worked for Thom Browne, but would indeed look horrendous on most other people. I will say that having a tie clip and tucking the tie into the waist is superfluous.
