finally a guy who demoes an amps CLEAN sound. The basis of an amp is a very good clean sound.

Gents, thank you for posting this video. This was very helpful. I received my V40 Deluxe Head yesterday and i am very pleased with it. Super clean and stable, nice EQ and the Verb and Trem are fantastic. Takes pedals very well. I have this paired up with a Sheriff 44 and I'm in tone heaven!!!
@ThomannsGuitarsBasses6 жыл бұрын
Hi Mike, which pedals are you using? I am thinking of picking up one of these at some point. //Andy
@TheMjriley51506 жыл бұрын
Hi Andy, Right now, I'm just using the amp by itself so that I can get a feel for it. I played around with a delay in the loop and it was seamless. I do have a few different OD pedals (Max OD808, Xotic BB Preamp and Mesa Grid Slammer) and I plan on playing around with them a bit in the next few days. I'll let you know what I like. I'm really enjoying the V40 deluxe as a clean amp and the Sheriff for my overdrive. I'm 55 and a bit of a vintage guy (LPs, Teles and Strats). These two amps meet all of my needs by themselves.

Thanks Mick for the cool advice to turn up the treble not volume to be heard more. Great snippet of advice 👍🤘🏻🎸

Why does the 'high' gain sound in the Deluxe sound soooooo much better than the original V40? Is it the cabinet?

never tried the deluxe but the v40 was the flattest, bassiest and dullest amp i ever owned and returned immediately
@coreyclark65057 жыл бұрын
Scamp Thelazycat You disliked it that much? I’ve always thought they sounded great on the videos, but haven’t had a chance to play one here in the states personally.
@scampthelazycat98917 жыл бұрын
Corey Clark corey those vids do indeed sound great because volume wise they are shaking the walls, when i first plugged into the v40 i was horrified . amp was returned the bext day, a shocking disappointment

Which cab did you use? The one that was specifically designed for the amp or which speakers? Every speaker has its own character.. i have a few cabinets and sometimes i love the sound of an amp connected to one and absolutely hate it connected to another ;)
@komimakojaketu5 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your opinion! I thought my ears were failing me. I think there's an inherent dullness combined with questionable voicing on all the Victory amps I heard on YT so far. Not a single one impressed me. They all sound kind of constipated compared to the good Fenders, Marshalls, Voxes, Oranges, Hiwatts.... It sounds like the speakers are playing 'inwards' instead of 'outwards'. It's the PLAYERS that make Victory amps sound good at times. I usually stay away from amps that need constant tweaking to sound good.

I don't know how you recorded these things, but they sound like a squashed fly. Wiry and tinny.
