That intro jam is one of the most compelling demos of the Muse so far!

Actually - and this is in NO WAY any criticism of the explanation of the »Muse« - the start of the video where you jam along ... I could have burned hours of my time listening to it and watching what you do. 👍❤

Your review is the most musically and technology balanced that I've seen. I'm sold except for my experience returning Moog products for repairs: potentiometer, keys, and buttons. What's your opinion regarding durability and build quality?

Amazing jams and great overview! Around the 2:20 mark, it looks like you’re using some sort of controller to repeat or stutter certain drum hits. How are you achieving that? It sounds great and looks like fun! Appreciate all you do Felix, thanks so much!

Looks like the Korg Nanokontrol, going into Ableton, I'd guess. I'm sure Felix will chime in soon...

Yes, it‘s a Nanokontrol mapped to activate various different beat repeats and combinations of flangers, phasers, delays etc.

What is the thing u r using with the red buttons that is on screen most of the jam, and it looks like it’s applying stutter effect to the whole track

What are the keys like? Do they feel like cheap plastic? Are they similar to the Subsequent 37 for example? And what exactly is this unit at 2:18? I have never seen this one.

@peterkenney91582 ай бұрын
Keys are better than Subsequent 37 for sure, but didn’t feel as nice as the Sequential 6 series, even though they are the same TP/9S I believe. Seems they are weighted lighter. I did find there was a tendency for the aftertouch to trigger unintentionally a fair bit too, a problem I’ve never had before.

Then you might wanna check out Native Instruments Super 8 or Arturia‘s CS80 VST. Super 8 is much easier on the CPU and CS80 is easier for vintage emulation.

It would be great to know the differences between the Labyrinth Sequencer's, and those of the Muse? A real world understanding, that is. We're loving our Labyrinth for very experimental work.

@@ghasmiller The muse sounds great but it‘s in no way equivalent to 8 minimoogs stiched together into a polysynth. I played around with the latest rerelease of the Minimoog and I can‘t explain why but the the sound of this mono voice was absolutely outstanding and unlike anything I‘ve heard before. I don‘t know where the price tag comes from and maybe it‘s unjustified, but I guess at least some of it goes into really good components.

A mono analog is engineered specifically for mono, so a poly isn't going to be as good for mono, even with those with the mono selection option. For example, the gain staging is completely different, as well as other factors, that allow the osc to be pushed much further. However, honestly, in the mix, I'm not sure anyone's going to really be about to tell.
