As somebody who has never desired to have children, mostly due to my own selfish innability to get down with them on their level, i really do feel that Andrea was, and will always will be, the absolute perfect teacher and rolemodel for the younger generations. She is so at ease with the children and i feel thats a quality not many people naturally possess the way she did! (or maybe i just need to read more books xD) The world really has lost a special soul. As ive mentioned before i am an athiest, however Andreas passing has made me hope there's a different existence, the thought of this wonderful mindset gone forever just isn't plausible. Awww such a little cutie pie. Did Thomas watch this? Was he embarrassed? My son thinks my keeping all his photos and school stuff is a "waste of time". I know someday he will bevglad to have some of it and will be collecting the same for his own children. Or, maybe that is just a Mom thing. Lol

I asked Thomas; he said he watched it and he thought it was cute. I think all the kids enjoy seeing themselves when they were small. We have a screen saver that shows a picture slideshow on our tv/computer in the living room. It's fun seeing everyone when they were smaller and even my little kids have learned to recognize their siblings when they were young. It's pretty cute hearing Sophia see a baby picture of Asher and correctly identifying who it is.

Hey Andrea, I know you're doing a lot of kid videos lately, and I was wondering if you had ever posted a video talking about breastfeeding. I know you breastfeed your children, but I was wondering if you wean them off at a certain time or if you prefer the children to self-wean. I know some kids don't self-wean until they are much older and I am curious as to how that would work in a big family with more than one child breastfeeding. I would love to have a big family one day, so I'm trying to get my research in now. Or if any viewers know or have any big family input I would appreciate your replies!

I've let all of my kids self-wean and they've weaned themselves probably sooner than I was ready. All four of my older boys stopped nursing around 10 months. The girls have all nursed about 13-14 months. The big exception to this pattern has been Solomon. He just kept going and going. He nursed all the way through my pregnancy with Sophia. I'd never nursed two at once before and I was surprised that after her birth I went back through the cycle of having colostrum and then my milk coming in again. (I suppose it should've occurred to me that it would happen that way.) It was actually nice having him still nursing because when I became very full of milk he was able to help me out with that. Solomon nursed until he was 27 months old. He would've still kept going, but I was ready for him to stop and let Sophia be my only nursing baby for awhile. (Sophia was about 8 months old at the point.) I think Solomon would've nursed along time more if I'd let him. Just a few months ago he asked why he couldn't drink my milk anymore. :) When I was nursing two they'd sometimes sit and nurse at the same time, sometimes it was separate. Solomon didn't nurse as often as Sophia, just a few times a day.

Andrea Mills Wow! That's really interesting that there's such a variety. I wonder if it has anything to do with their personalities. Solomon has always seemed like he is more attached to you than his siblings in the videos, but I wonder if that has to do with his age more than anything. And I'm curious to find out if girls nursing more than boys is the norm!
