Still in awe of what a great mother she was! She let all the children have a task and gave them such confidence with her mothering. It seems so unfair she didn’t get to see them grow up. Bless you, Andrea. We will never forget you. And bless you too, Tom.

I probably say this too much but I really wish there were more parents like you and your hubby in this world. I loved that when you told the kids who didn't get to make their dish that night that it would all be done in the morning and there was no whining and carrying on. What a nice day for your family to gather. My entire family was able to get to together last Christmas for the first time since my parents' grandkids started moving away and having their own families. We knew it would be our dad's last Christmas as he was diagnosed with lung cancer (inoperable) so we all were able to come together. It probably won't happen again but the time we got together was so incredibly nice. :-)

I must love your method of filming. It's so engaging. I feel like I'm actually a participant in your family's day-to-day activities. I even found myself going "I can't believe how much Camden and Hadley have grown!" while watching this video. They're both so adorable. I know that I have said this time and time again, but thank you so much for being such a blessing to myself and so many others. You have given me so many ideas for homeschooling and so many creative ideas for charts and organization (by the way I found Print Shop 23 on Amazon and I'm definitely going to order it!), plus it's just a blessing to be able to sit down and to listen to someone speak on life and ideals who is truly rooted in the Word. One thing I was always taught is that you can always tell when someone is truly rooted in the Word whether you know them or not, and I can definitely tell that you are. Anyway, ramble over. On to more videos! I have lots of catching up to do.

I can't tell you how much I needed this encouragement today. I've been hit with a lot of judgment from a lot of angles and I was feeling pretty discouraged. Tom was telling me to stop listening to all of it and remember all the people who are really encouraged by what I do. The next thing I see is your message. I literally still have tears in my eyes from all that has been dumped on me today and I am _so thankful_ you took the time to write to me.

@TheMillsFamilyVlog8 жыл бұрын
I had them in our coat closet for all the kids' winter boots, snow pants, etc. They were in two stacks and they _just_ fit. Since I could only fit 6 and we have 8 kids, I decided to try a different system so I took them out, but I wasn't confident with the new plan and I didn't want to get rid of the baskets yet. I'm not liking the new set up so I think I might put them back. I'm not sure.

I love how the children are taught life skills, accommodating to their age. Its funny how the boy (I apologize, I dont know their names yet, I'm new to your content,) has more knowledge than I did at his age about molecules, heck I didn't even know the water cycle until high school. It just goes to show how homeschooling used properly can be, like, wayyyy better than public schooling. I hope you don't get asked this a lot, or I don't come out as rude, but, why do all the children wear the same colored clothing?

Hi Andrea! I absolutely love your videos. You are a huge inspiration. I am wondering if you could better explain how you manage the media (TV, gaming, tablets...) in your home. We allowed our children to purchase Kindle Fire's this week while they were $33, but want more direction on how we can enable responsible/safe use of it. Our default answer is no media, which I know is not realistic in the world we live in. I have watched your video about your privilege system and plan to implement something similar. We also struggle with TV. I just want my children to pick people(relationships) over a gameing/tv, which is what they would choose currently. My children are 12, 10, 6 &5. Thanks! Tricia

Tom, do you know who Prepsteader Bob and the Self Reliant Road Show are? Prepsteader Bob and his wife, Mrs. B, go around the US and stop at various homesteads to give assistance in a category the homesteader says they need help in. It could be building a chicken coop, set up a garden, build up soil,.... to help each homestead to get a step up to make their homesteads a better place. Sometimes they stay a few hours, sometimes a few days. You can check out his two KZbin channels to check them out, and find his entry form to fill out to receive help. There are no guarantees that he will be able to stop at your place, just an opportunity to let him now if yous have a need or are able to join in and help another homesteader to build community. I know that there are many people in your community locally, as well as on KZbin who would be eager to come and join in any project you have need of if Prepsteader Bob were able to stop by your family's home. Also, I know that many of us KZbin family would financially assist in financing a much needed project for yous!

I've been wondering for a while if Claudia is on a routine, and if she is breastfed? She always seems pretty settled and happy. I have two kids with three years in between them...because at around 18 months both of mine were so challenging I couldn't handle the thought of having another one so young!
@TheMillsFamilyVlog8 жыл бұрын
Claudia has somewhat of a routine for naps, but we're not real rigid with it. She was breastfed, but she weaned herself about 2 months ago. She had been using a sippy cup but I introduced a bottle a couple of weeks ago. It felt like she needed something more "comforting" than just the cup. I feel like it gets easier the more kids you have because life is naturally more on a routine so the new baby settles in a lot faster. With the first babies, everything is new and starting from scratch. It's definitely harder.
@philosophinix8 жыл бұрын
I suppose you are right about the routine naturally being there already. I do also think you must be so calm and patient, to have kids who obviously love you so much. God bless.
