Six years later and Thomas Franks words could not be more true.

They are so entrenched in the system they have become a party of Extreme. Wealth. It's time to ditch both parties!!!!

There never _was_ a political party _"of the people",_ and there never will be. The entire point of forming a party is so that a vanguard can guide the 'strength in numbers' presumption; it becomes an elitist-ridden bureaucracy itself.

There's nothing more frustrating than being in the minority who's ahead of the political curve and you have to wait who knows how long for the rest of the people in the country to catch up. : /

That is so true, it's even worse if you know you will be long dead when it happens

Arrogant, much? You had it all with Obama and a democrat house and senate, and what did you do with it? You alienated most of the country, and begin a political trail of tears that cost your party over 1200 seats in State and Federal elections. You are so far behind the curve you can't even grasp the concept that your party and leadership made it possible for a President Donald J Trump.

Potent sociological argument. One that applies not just to the Democratic Party in the US, but also New Labour in the UK and organisations generally. Hope the book has the same humour as Pity the billionaire.

And I just stated why they won't! What's the sense of marketing something in a way that turns the market away! Yes! EVERYONE needs to know this and the title needs to hook not scare!
@justgivemethetruth6 жыл бұрын
I don't think you are right about that ... it could just as well be interpreted as Listen Liberally, or Listen to Liberals ... it is a weird title though. Frank doesn't seem to want to be too partisan or use the rhetoric of either side ... I do believe that he things he sits at the political center of America, but America doesn't have a clue where it is anymore.

Thomas just coalesced for me the notion that meritocracy is "the left's" version of rugged individualism espoused by the right: both seek to undermine solidarity to divide & conquer. However, if you're wealthy or a big business, then the government gives you cookies.
